    Backup

    Hello,

How does backup work ? I'm working on a campaign, loaded in LAN mode, but on the campaign folder, the time of last modification shows a gap of 6-12 hours past.

FG only creates backup files once per day.

Do you mean save? The campaign file is saved every 5 minutes, assuming there are changes to it. Note that I've found in Windows you sometimes have to display the Date Last Saved as the Last Modified Date is not always updated.

    Yes, I mean 'save'.
How may I display the Date Last Saved ?

There is no "last saved". There are db.xml (database) files that occasionally get backed up in the campaign directory. To go back to an older version you'd have to rename/remove your old db.xml and rename the backed up session you want to go back to to db.xml.

Gist is - you always copy your campaign and keep that as a backup. Typically I just backup my entire campaign directory to a USB drive and keep that on my desk. Occasionally I'll throw a copy to the temp directory to just hold on if I'm messing with a bunch of stuff I think is risky and might have to go back on.

The date last saved will be the date on the db.xml file inside the campaign folder. As LE says above each new day that you open the campaign the db.xml is copied and renamed to a session file. I believe that FG keeps about 6 or 10 such session files.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

To display Date Last Saved, right click on the header row in Windows Explorer, Select More... and then add the Date Last Saved column.
