    Hello,

In the Agents of Dune, at the start of the campaign book, it refers to reading the Countess' Letter before starting, but I have looked everywhere and cannot find it! I know in the physical copy it is a separate item. Is this asset included in the campaign, and if so where can I find it? It seems very important! thank you

I've inserted the image "Read this First" into the story entry for a quick cross-reference and submitted the update. Hopefully, it makes it in time for the Tuesday update. Otherwise, it is already in the Campaign Images as "Read this First".

I have found it thanks to your explanation! I am new to Fantasy Grounds so it is quite a lot to wrap my head around, I appreciate the response and helping me to find it. A quick reference sounds very useful

Dune 2d20: Drive Statements auto-select when choosing a Drive on NPC sheets

    Hi!

I think I may have found a small issue with how Drive Statements work on NPC sheets in the Dune 2d20 ruleset.

When I open an NPC and click/select a Drive, the linked Drive Statement is selected automatically as well. I’m not sure this is intended, because as I understand the rules, the statement should only apply if it actually fits the action being attempted.

For example, in Harvesters of Dune, Corinth Euler has Duty 7 with the statement “I cover the back of those who cover mine.” If I click Duty for a roll, that statement is automatically selected too. But there could be plenty of Duty-based rolls where that particular statement does not really apply.

My reading of the core rulebook is that Drive Statements are contextual:
    - p.105 explains Drive Statements.
    - p.146 says that when using a Drive, you check whether the statement agrees with or clashes with the action.
    - p.148, in the Skill Test Procedure, says the player chooses an appropriate Drive, guided by Drive Statements, and may also choose an applicable Focus.
    - p.150 explains that Determination can be spent if the statement for the Drive supports the action.

So it feels to me like selecting a Drive should not automatically select/apply its statement. It should probably be something the GM/player decides depending on the specific action, much like a Focus only applies when appropriate.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding the intended automation, but I wanted to report it in case this is a ruleset bug or an unintended UI behavior.

    Thanks!

Well I don't believe it matters in the grand scheme of the automation of the ruleset. It doesn't output any information besides what drive you rolled. It's there to ensure the person rolling knows that you are rolling that drive and you can select either the statement button or the drive button to make the roll. The intention was for the player and GM to interact and let each other know what the statement is if it applied since that whole system is handled without automation and needs more of a manual touch.
