Creating Maps in the Shadowrun 2 Style

    Hello friends,

I have an oddly specific question. Does anybody know a good tool for creating floor plans in the style of the old Shadowrun 2 adventures?

I'm looking for something very simple and stripped down—basically the kind of floor plans an architect would draw.

Do you have an example to look at?

    Hello,

I want something in a style similar to this example.example.jpg

    But without the grid.

Is this the kind of map you are looking for?

Campaign Cartographer would be the best option as it as an actual CAD program built off of Autocad, which is what architects used to use (probably still do) for 2D and isometric floorplans.

When I had CC back in the late 90s I couldn't do the isometric on my Tandy because I didn't have a math coprocessor.

You could pretty easily do this just with the drawing tools in FGU.

That is true, just place some black squares, circles or lines.

FYI, CC actually uses the FastCad kernel. The kernel was developed by Michael Riddle, who started AutoCAD. But AutoCAD has never actually used the FastCAD kernel, it started with the ACIS kernel Michael Riddle's Thoughts » About

Answering the OP, I agree CC could easily do this, but it's probably overkill. CC has Volume 2 and 20 of the annuals that both have blueprint styles, but I think you could do these with just core CC3+.

If you are going to get into making maps, then see if their is a Humble Bundle for Campaign Cartographer. It's perhaps the most comprehensive mapping program I know of. But it's massive and not easy to learn. It's amazingly fast to use once you have learned it, but the learning curve is steep and long.

If you are just looking to do one or two maps, just learn how to do this within FG. It's mapping tool is pretty good, it's just not nearly as powerful or versatile as CC.
