Hi csabialonso, thanks for reaching out. I’m afraid I’m not sure what to suggest, as it looks more like a Fantasy Grounds issue than something related to the extension itself. That said, I’ve passed it along to the support channel on the official Fantasy Grounds Discord server. Hopefully someone from the team will be able to help you out.

January 12th, 2026, 16:23 #102(Copied from what I told Eldarc in Discord) Changing from subscription to free didn't change the ruleset or the client in any way so that isn't the issue. You don't say how long ago it was since you last updated so it is possible that ruleset changes since you last updated FGVTT are a factor. It's also possible that your db.xml for that campaign has become corrupted or that the ruleset didn't update correctly. You may also be using other extensions which could be interfering. So it's a process of elimination. Does everything work in a new campaign without any other extensions would be the first question. You could try reverting to an earlier save of the db.xml for the campaign. See here. https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassia...n+Earlier+Save
You could try deleting the 5e.pak and CoreRPG.pak files from the rulesets folder and update FGVTT. Failing all of that fixing or identifying the issues we'd probably need to see the compiled log files to see if they contain anything.

If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

By add-ons I assume you mean extensions? If you obtained the extension via the Forge then it should get updated at the same time as you update FGVTT for any other reason. If you got the extension from another source (DMsGuild, GitHub, Forum link etc) then you'll need to revisit that and see if there has been an update and re-downlod the files and put them into your extension folder inside FGData (click the folder button at the top left of the start screen to find FGData).

Ok, well, as far as I'm aware and since you are the only one reporting this it would seem that your problem isn't related to the extension (my original post suggested that if you were using other extensions as well as this one the problem might lie with one of those other extensions. I'm assuming that you either aren't using other extensions or you have tested without them and still have a problem). See my post for other advice on what you might be able to do to solve the problem, particularly rolling back the campaign db to an earlier save).

What are the "Modules" that need to be activated within the running campaign so I can have access to the Calling/Background list? My UI looks exactly how it should look, the only issue is that the LOTR5E class/skill options are missing. If I activate some D&D related modules (eg. D&D Free Rules or D&D Basic rules) I see the chore D&D classes but none of the LOTR related ones. Within the modules I also cannot find any LOTR 5E "module" that I can activate.

Your data isn’t loading because there’s no module, either in Fantasy Grounds’ official store or on The Forge, that includes LotR 5e data. That material isn’t licensed, so it can’t be sold or published in any form. The data shown in the screenshots on the extension’s page on The Forge is data I entered manually for my own use, but it cannot be shared in any way.
What surprises me is that in your first message you said you had LotR 5e callings on your PCs’ character sheets, but now you can’t load them. If you had them some time ago because, like me, you created them yourself, then you should still be able to load them now without any problem.Last edited by Eldarc; January 13th, 2026 at 16:52.

The extension has been updated to the latest version of Fantasy Grounds. Among other improvements, this FG version allows the items within a given sidebar menu to have their own button link and image link. Previously, there was only a single button link for the entire ruleset, and links pinned to images used that red pushpin, which had already become quite outdated.
With that in mind, we’ve made each sidebar menu use its own unique icon, and its items now have their own button links and image links as well. There is still a new generic button link, which is also new and continues to display the One Ring, but now updated to match the current style and format.

Recent FG updates have broken the extension
Current 5E ruleset breaks multiple sheet rolls.
Errors:
Ability Check: getAbilityEffectsBonus nil at line 889
Saving Throw: getAbilityEffectsBonus nil at line 562
Skill Check: getAbilityEffectsBonus nil at line 755
Attack Roll: clearCritState nil at line 44
This appears to be API drift after recent 5E updates.
