@DJZuki,
If you are unable to update (or host), then most likely your connection is being blocked by something between the software and the Internet.
Given your information you provided, this is most likely due to Comcast Advanced Security. Please turn off Advanced Security on your Comcast account, wait 15 minutes, and try to update again.

Normally, this will be a firewall or security software issue; except recently many Internet providers have been implementing "advanced security" features that block applications by default. We're trying to find a way to contact Comcast about it; but they do not provide any way for companies to get whitelisted for this "feature".
Regards,

Hi all,
Can't get 1802 to open. Trying to get my wife (same network) and a few friends (not on same network) to be able to login and join game. Been at this for a bit, but can't get this working for the life of me. Whenever i go to yougetsignal it says port 1802 is closed. Using the Unity version of fantasy grounds as well.
1 192.168.1.237
2 24.229
3 Wireless
4 Network connection is private
5 Just windows Firewall and my router firewall. - exceptions set in windows firewall (for fantasygrounds program and port 1802 in inbound/outbound rule as protocol type UDP, local port 1802, remote port set to all ports ), also disabled it.
6 Tracing route to dns.google [8.8.8.8]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms router.asus.com [192.168.1.1]
2 19 ms 12 ms 12 ms 10.162.144.1
3 16 ms 20 ms 15 ms gateway-PO-3-pbgblocal1.pbg.ptd.net [207.44.121.53]
4 16 ms 30 ms 16 ms 172.16.10.63
5 145 ms 144 ms 144 ms pni-google.nyc.ptd.net [207.44.112.2]
6 28 ms 21 ms 16 ms 108.170.248.33
7 12 ms 27 ms 16 ms 108.170.227.209
8 18 ms 19 ms 26 ms dns.google [8.8.8.8]
7 Also port forwarded in my Asus RT-AC66U router - fantasygrounds 1802 1802 24.229.xxx.xx BOTH, router has a firewall - IPv6 Firewall, it says Inbound Firewall Rules (Max Limit : 128)
Service Name Remote IP/CIDR Local IP Port Range Protocol Add / Delete. Did ipconfig and found my Link-local IPv6 Address and tried using that in local IP area but didn't work (not really familiar with that part)

Thanks in advance :-)Last edited by kellian1; April 14th, 2020 at 06:36.

Welcome kellian1
Are you using FGC or FGU?
Please post screenshot of #2 on the router please - what WAN IP does the router show?
please show screenshot of Firewall List and Firewall Rule detail.
You mention the FW rule for UDP1802 but yougetsignal.com appears to only test TCP
Your tracert shows a second Private IP at hop #2 - hence please confirm what WAN IP your router shows
For Port Forwarding - usually you dont specifiy the outside IP address as on most residential networks this is a dynamic address - usually its left blank or you specify an Interface rather than an IP address. Can you check with your router manufacturers website if you are doing that correctly.
TCP for FGC and UDP for FGU.

Hi Damned,
Im using FGU
Here are the attachments you asked for as well as what my port forwarding looks like. In the firewall of the Asus it doesn't let me just do a protocol (like UDP since I'm using FGU, it tells me I can't leave the local ip blank). I've actually tried the IP address both ways and asus' website shows the example of using the 192.168 ip address instead of the 24.229. I have tried both and rebooted the router each time with the same result. Ran another port scan at www.ipfingerprints.com which does UDP (had no idea about the other site), and it came back with the firewall is blocking the packets from reaching. Thanks again!!

Ok set the port forward to the 192 address and set the game to Lan
Re-ran the test and also ran on 2nd site check-host.net/ to verify and I received open or filtered. Went to my wifes computer to try and join game (as I was logged in as GM and she had game open) and she can't see game to join either by GM name.

****EDIT**** it worked once I used the IP address again!!! Thanks so much!!!Last edited by kellian1; April 14th, 2020 at 08:31.
