I'm playing in 5e.
Edit for more information:
I'm making multiple location entries for various areas of an airship. The portal entries are for the multiple stairs / ladders on the ship. When I try to drag a location entry to be the parent entry of a portal, it looks like it applies to the portal, and I can even "lock" the portal entry. The portal will correctly show up in the location entry under the portal tab as well. But when I re-open the portal entry, the relationship seems to self-clear. The portal entry disappears from the location, and the parent link disappears in the portal entry.
Thanks for looking into it!Last edited by CapitanAndyman; April 27th, 2017 at 00:55.

5E,
on the Towns Tab, I use the pull down menu and I created a new Group; in an effort to keep the towns/cities sorted by region, as the region has a LOT of towns/cities
I use the pull down menu to select the group I created,
select create item,
The new item (my town) is not created under the group I created, it creates it in the "new" and "all" groups only.
I just fiddled with it some more, it appears all the tabs/groups are doing the same thing, if I create a group on any tab then create an item under that group it only creates/shows up under "all" and "new" groups.

Well if it works that way, intended or not, then I will be happy to use it that way, Not sure why I didn't think of trying that....

Update, That way works great, I create the group, Create the new item, use the arrow to cause the group list to show and drag the created item into the group I want.
Thank you CapitanAndyman and
Thank you Dulux-Oz for an awesome extension

The Locations Extension is a great help in our campaign.
The Manual mentions the WMC Extension, but I can not find it.
Is it still in use?
