Image Stamp trouble
I made a sea map, then added a water fx lvl, then tried to stamp the image of a ship with transparency onto it, but can seemingly only draw 2 or more and not a single image like I'm trying to do. Even with the water fx lvl removed the stamping of an image doesn't seem to work and it's a noticeable performance hit when trying to stamp the image.

What sort of size (resolution and size) is this image that you are trying to stamp? Some screenshots might help.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

It's 2048x1536 that I scale to 42.0. Is there a way to stamp it once instead of a brush mode?

Yes. Drag the image into the little stamp box in Layers menu and then just click on the place you want to place it. If you click again you'll get another one; so just click once.
The stamp tool is really meant for placing tokens. An image of the size you are placing probably just needs to be dragged straight from assets and dropped onto the map. See video fourteen here for different methods of adding to a map https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...-do-I-in-Unity (It's about spell tokens but it's the same principle). If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

Usually, something like a ship stamp is potentially a decorative item. It might be easier in performance if one can create a couple of smaller maps and link those to your ocean and ship map. The FGU VTT platform can handle a bit larger images than FG classic, but there are still some memory considerations and limits too. If your map is already large and you are adding in a fairly large png image asset as a ship, that can be cumbersome. If you use the tiles and the Fantasy Grounds Unity assets, your memory burden is lessened by using a repeated set of tiles rather than a huge file. Time might be a factor for you, and I understand that. Best practices are smaller maps or in pieces or zones. If you try to share the map you are working with now, it will potentially cause some lag for your players. Sharing large maps are tough on your network in so far as bandwidth for data.
Best of luck with your project!Last edited by Laerun; March 16th, 2022 at 16:36. Reason: Spelling
