Port-issues...
Hello dear community.
My friends and me started playing FG lately.
Since i am using Unity Media (Germany) i have the same Problems as many other people here.
BUT.. I dont get it, why.
I orderd a Power-Upload at my ISP. This means they turn of DS lite and give me a dual stacks.
This means (as i can believe my provider) i can connect op boh IP types.. but IPv4 only when requested by the service.
So... when checking on my ports.. 1802 TCP is OPEN.
I also opend 3074 UDP (found that somewhere for tje Arris Routers that unity media uses) strangely the 1802 just opened when i opend 3074 as well.
So... no success anyways... i tried windscribe...i have a 50gb free account. It does not work. Although the connection is perfectly integrated into windows 10.
Getting IP infos tells me, i am using an IPv4 from lets say.. Switzerland.
Despite that. No success...
Using Hamachi does not work either...
A friend of mine... using unity media. Same Router and settings... can host games. (Strangely)..
Has anyone an idea... how that bullocks works with Dual stack? Are there new techniques? (Except all that VPN ****... )

Welcome to the FG forums.
Getting an IPv4 address is not all you need - you also need an address that isn't shared, or that your ISP can direct TCP port 1802 traffic specifically to you. I'm guessing that your ISP is sharing IPv4 addresses with multiple customers.
Have you ensured that when you (the GM) is connected to Hamachi that your Hamachi network is shown by Windows as Private and not Public?
Have you ensured that TCP port 1802 and FantasyGrounds.exe are allowed in your security/anti-virus applications?
If your computer is allowing FantasyGrounds.exe to operate correctly, and your ISP can't give you a dedicated IPv4 address, then your only solution is to use some form of tunnelling solution - most of these are referred to as VPNs. The most common solution FG users on these forums use are Hamachi or PureVPN (with the dedicated IP address add on). This may be your only solution unfortunately, until FGU is released.Private Messages: My inbox is forever filling up with PMs. Please don't send me PMs unless they are actually private/personal messages. It very much sounds like you have a Windows Config issue - the first is as suggested by Trenloe - make the network connection(s) Private, the second is ti check any software firewalls like antivirus products and make sure that you are accepting incoming TCP1802 connections from any source.

Thx for the welcoming..
So... If i believe my ISP... its like.. "U get ur own IPv4... u have no static IP, but its your own. U only get the Adress if the site u visit or the aplication you use requests an IPv4"...
Now the Question: Does FG actively require an IPv4? Or is it just asking for connection and gets Problems with that "answer"?
And yes... The Port is OPEN. BUT: Using Hamachi.. it say, we have Problems establishing a tunnel (directly to my Friend)... Running Diagnosis tells me to reinstall Hamachi...
The AV Software is not the Problem... i uninstalled it and checked without any "security".

This is my Hops, checking google Tracert... if i can rely on that Explanation damned posted.. its nearly impossible to set it up properly... (?)
To that Windows connection Issue: I opened Firewall-Settings and allowed incoming TCP 1802 ports. Also.. Ports are forwarded with my router (So, my Port ist OPEN)

Topic VPN: Its not working with a normal VPN... i think i realy need a Fix VPN-IPv4 Adress... paid service with a fix IPv4...
Summing it all Up... i think that Fake-IPv4 is the Problem... i have no own Adress..i get a random one... And that only at request... Ur thoughts?Last edited by ForceyGaming; July 19th, 2019 at 21:59.

Blanking out the IP addresses isn’t helpful since that’s what we need to see to tell whether you have public or private IP addresses between you and the internet
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

Hope i get that right...
what i changed in my Router Settings...
Ports.jpg
I opened Ports 1802 (TCP) and 3074 (UDP)
=> I found that somewhere on a Wiki Page... Help from that Port Forward page.... Unity Media Arris Router.
So: Firewall Settings: Firewall Settings.jpg
Added Port Trigger (Test Wise): Trigger.JPG
IP-Filters: IP Filter.jpg
So far... Changes made to the router.
Maybe FYI:
I asked my provider to change from DS Lite to Dual Stack... i get an IPv4 Adress... some Sites recognize that IPv4... some dont... it is fix since my last Router restart... so seems to be given to a person, when it connects, and stays until restart.

Don't use port triggering - it could interfere with port forwarding. Use only port forwarding.

You quoted my request for answers to all 7 questions and did not answer the 7 questions?
The linked article does not advise you to use Port Triggering...
Turn off IPv4 TCP Flood Detection
Please answer the 7 questions...
