Two Laptops, 2 Standard Licenses. Offline play with ethernet switch?
Hello!
I want to DM on my laptop, while a PC controls the maps linked by HDMI to a TV as a tabletop.
We have the Netgear 5-port Ethernet Switch, but keep getting connection errors. We've tried being connected to the AT&T Pace modem/router using the given IP address for internal IP, with 1802 open, but still no go. We even tried turning WiFi off both laptops and using the ethernet IP, but still no go.
Can anyone think of why we can't connect with 2 general accounts (not free or ultimate)?
Any help is appreciated

Network set to private? Anti-virus or firewall?
Have you verified the internal IP? Can you ping the IP?

I used ipconfig/all to see the ip addresses. I don't know how to verify it otherwise, much less ping it.
Mainly I assumed that with the ethernet switch I wouldn't need to be online. I'll be going to my friends again tomorrow to set firewall to public & private, as I've seen others do. Also, checking all my friends ethernet drivers...

Start FG on each computer. Go to the "Load Campaign" screen and see what the "Internal" IP address is - for both the GM and Player computer.
- On the GM computer, from a command prompt, run ping ww.xx.yy.zz - where ww.xx.yy.zz is the internal IP address of the player computer.
- On the Player computer, from a command prompt, run ping ww.xx.yy.zz - where ww.xx.yy.zz is the internal IP address of the GM computer.
Do these show a response or a timeout?
If they show timeouts, then post the two IP addresses here so we can help you more - it's fine to do this, they are internal and it's not a security risk.Private Messages: My inbox is forever filling up with PMs. Please don't send me PMs unless they are actually private/personal messages. Well I found out it was the hosts windows firewall.
Although now the players are disconnecting and can't reconnect, so idk what is happening. Nothing was being shared with the PC's, and task usage is only at 261MB

How many player instances of FG? How many computers are connecting to the GM?
You originally mentioned 2 computers, one GM instance of FG and one player instance. Now you mention "players"???
Maybe a little more info on your setup and use so we can try to help you...Private Messages: My inbox is forever filling up with PMs. Please don't send me PMs unless they are actually private/personal messages.
