Music for my players in game
Greetings all,
This is my first post, a new member to these forums, heard a lot of good things. I'm putting together a module for my players, we use Skype for communication. Would anyone happen to know how I can include some background music for them (ie when in town have some nice village music, when in a dungeon it would be some creepy music, when in an Inn it would be classic tavern music)?
Thanks,
Haggar

Welcome to the forums!
Many people use various voice apps (Discord, Skype, TeamSpeak, etc.) to communicate with their players and they use virtual cable setups to send background music through the voice app to the players. All of the sound setup will need to be outside of FG - some info in post #2 here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...l=1#post182730
The main thing you can do in FG is have sound links that trigger playing music on your computer - through various apps. This extension is very useful for that:
https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...ound-Extension You will still need to setup your voice app to play sounds to your players, or have the players with the same sound app and files setup on their side.Private Messages: My inbox is forever filling up with PMs. Please don't send me PMs unless they are actually private/personal messages. I still have yet to find any kind of solution for getting this working on discord. Everything seems to be all TeamSpeak this and that, and I hate teamspeak lol I want to use discord for my games.

There are several threads on using FG and Discord for sounds. The one I think you want is; https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...ound-Extension
But if that's not it, try the Site Search link at the top of the page.

First of all, that thing does not say what bots are needed, nor give a link to the specific bots I can see. Second, I want to use tabletop audio. I don't want to have to have the sound files on my computer. lol

A quick Google search might be in order then

I just tried it. Doesn't work. It just goes straight to youtube and tries to search for something similar.

Find a bot that allows you to specify links. This one mentions "play music from... direct links": https://fredboat.com/ I haven't tested it - but read up and it and give it a go.
Anyway - I'd recommend you search through some of the bots and find one that allows you to specify a web page to play music. Then you can use a link to play a track or playlist from tabletopaudio - info here: https://tabletopaudio.com/blog/2014/...ing_playlists/Private Messages: My inbox is forever filling up with PMs. Please don't send me PMs unless they are actually private/personal messages.
