Looks like the Effect Builder ext needs to be updated. the most recent COP - AURA release got rid of the AURACOLOR and AURASHAPE effect types, they are no longer needed. The functionality can be done purely in the AURA definition as descriped in the COP-Aura manual

AFAIK the effect builder extension has nothing to update. Extensions that want to have compatibility with it have their own files (see mine here) which define the syntax for their effects. Probably the author of COP just needs to update those definitions.

I am the author of the COP ext and I have never included anything for the Effect Builder syntax, so I dont know where its coming from.

so i have no idea why that would ever have been working

I am trying to use an aura effect to place a label on a certain type of creature within the aura effect.

Speak with Sharks : Adaros can communicate telepathically with sharks to a distance of 100 feet. This communication is limited to simple concepts, such as “attack”, “come”, and “defend”.

So I tried the following setup. Shark is not a creature type so in this case I tried IFTAG: shark

AURA: 100 all; IFTAG: shark; Telepathic Link

this applied " IFTAG: shark; Telepathic Link" to all NPCs within 100 feet

I am looking for a way to have an aura test an IF statement to anything (or a select group, like ally, foe...) within the aura range and only apply the IF result if it is true.

Is something like this doable? I actually have several different places I would like to be able to do this.

No, the foe/all/friend etc will be the only thing you can do to limit what it can go on at all. There is no way to do an IF statement in that part of it for a creature type. (shark isn't even a "type" of creature)
You can have the second part use an IF statement, but it will apply the "note" in this case.

While others have correctly stated that "shark" is not a creature type you should be able to just add the Shark (or any other custom condition) label to the NPC in the Effects section of the combat tracker. Then you can put the aura effect the character that has the ability:

IFT: CUSTOM(shark); AURA: 100 all/ally/foe; Telepathic Link - command attack, come, and defend (or something similar)

If you are using the Advanced Effects extension you can also add the condition label from the PC or NPC card and it will automatically add the tag to the character in the combat tracker when you the character is added to the CT.

Do note that this does not stop the effect from being place on all creatures it only would stop or allow the effect condition to apply or not apply.
So all creatures would still get the note that he is applying.
Also the way you have it. Would not be how you would want to do it. Pretty sure this is not a good option for what they are trying to do. This coding would make many auras effects notes.

If there was really an effect coding other than a note it might be worth the trouble to set something like that up. However they are really only applying a note.
Real effect coding I mean like a bonus to hit or adv or something.

The effect only gets put on the character that has the ability. All other characters (that share the tag you want to create) would just have an condition "effect" added to them (like shark which should be called in the full effect's IFT: CUSTOM). On the full effect you would need to choose all, ally or foe depending on which targets you want it to effect. Unless I am completely misunderstanding how the custom conditions work but it should be similar to how you do Hex. I've not tested it so I could be completely wrong.

is it possible to code the Investiture of Flame spell for the 1d10 damage that a creature gets if they move within 5 feet of the caster as well as if they end their turn there?

Better Combat Effects Gold I believe would provide options to make the damage only apply at the end of the character's turn.

BCEG does have some of these great options however, in the way it would work for the AURA and the wording of the spell there is currently no option for this within the AURA using BCEG.
The effect is doing 2 options, 1 at the start of moving into the AURA, then a second check is needed to see if they are still there at the end. I see no way to do that without a really complex adding a secondary effect tag to say they were effected by the first tag or not then removing it.

This is kinda way the ruleset has rules on how they do things, which means you will end up with the same wording for spells.

Ghostly swarm; AURA: 10 all; SAVES: 17 CON (M) (H); SAVEDMG: 3d8; SAVEADD: Nauseated

But it didnt work. My idea was an aura where pcs auto save every begining of their turn, and if take dmg and apply nauseated effect. And if they win the test, only take half damage and not apply the effect. I need help, thx.

Pd: i am using Pathfinder 1e ruleset, with better combat effects ext and aura ext.

CON is not a valid PF1E save. use FORT/REF/WILL

Yes, works but only for save fort. The following damage and effects doesnt work.

PD: I rewrite the sentence, only with the last part and only works if its not aura in the code. Maybe a bug?
PD2: Yeah i get it, the aura have problem with If: faction. I only put Ghostly swarm; AURA: 10 all; SAVES: 17 FORT (M) (H); SAVEDMG: 3d8; SAVEADD: Nauseated and works for me.

I tested Ghostly swarm; AURA: 10 all; IF: FACTION(notself); SAVES: 17 FORT (M) (H); SAVEDMG: 3d8; SAVEADD: Nauseated and it worked as I expected.
Only Aura Effects and Better Combat Effects were loaded.

If the token moves out of the aura before the save roll resolves, it won't do any of the follow up because the effect is already gone and there is nothing for it to do. Perhaps that is what is happening.

With my SW5E mines I treat that as if the mine started to acquire the target but lost it.

Aura has always worked this way.

Currently using 5e Aura Effects in a PF2e game with this Aura: AURA: 10 friend; Marshal's Aura; SAVE: 1 circumstance,will,fear

It works great, but I've been using it with Auras Visualized, which was recently updated to include color tags - like blue, red, green, etc. like this: AURA: 10 friend blue; Marshal's Aura; SAVE: 1 circumstance,will,fear

I don't know if a fix is appropriate in 5e Aura Effects or in Auras Visualized (so I will post in both threads) - but when the color tag is added, it no longer respects the 'friend' directive in the code - it just changes the color of the visible aura.

Just thought I'd let you know - lots of folks use the two of these nice extensions together, and might want to be able to change the color from the default white to something else while still taking advantage of targeted groups.

- RULESET: D&D 5E
- ACTIVE EXT: just this one by itself (but also tested with many others, including Auras Visualized)

When I run this extension (alone or with others), the "cube" isn't respected, and (in fact) when I add < , cube > to the effect it doesn't apply the Aura at all. If I remove the comma and leave "cube" it works, but remains a circle.

AURA: 10 ally, cube; Aura of Protection; SAVE: 3; RESIST: necrotic

I looked into this just now and it IS actually working but it seems like the distance calculation is incorrect for cubes.
I used this effect: AURA: 20 all, cube; test

After re-reading the documentation, this is normal.
cube Default auras are spheres. The length of the side of the cube is defined by the aura value. In the case of the example, the length of a side of the cube aura is 10. AURA: 10 all,cube; ATK: -5

It seems that the automatic rolls have stopped working. The aura will apply to the respective creatures, just the automatic rolls have stopped. At least for my Spirit Guardians. The code I am using is:

Aura: 15 foe : Spirit Guardians: IF: FACTION(foe): SAVEO: Wis 18 (H): SAVEDMG: 3d8 radiant: (C)

I also have tried the below.

Automatic rolls are not part of this extension.
It just applies auras based on proximity.
