The New Launcher is decent. It does need some changes to help with user adoption.

1st) Change "Fantasy Grounds" tab name to "Fantasy Grounds FAQ" or "Fantasy Grounds Help" and remove the FG dice. Why? The FG dice makes the tab look like a banner element and not a tab that can selected and rename it because that tab is a Fantasy Grounds help section. The GUI needs to be updated. Use A/B testing to see what name the user base prefers.

2nd) Ad is too large on Fantasy Grounds tab and its not served on the other pages. Make the ad size less obtrusive and put them on all tabs.

3rd) Ensure affinity analysis is set up for the tabs. For DM's sell forge and store content. DM would be identified as the person hosting the game. For players, sell pro-social content like: forums, find a game, warhorn, discord, player help videos. Players are those who do not host a game.

4th) For the Join A Game tab, change it to encourage open game play or one shots. Break the "Join Cloud Game" into two windows, the window below should be "Join an Open Game". Set up a flag on all new campaigns "Do you want anyone in the public to play" If they click it, the DM must list max number of players in a session. The game is then advertised in "Join an Open Game".

5th) When game is loading, put up tips on using the Fantasy Grounds interface. And put a link to the Tips page that has all of the automated tips on the page that are shown to the end user.

A hard "No" for me on ads on every tab. I didn't pay for ads; I don't want ads; I don't need ads. I've spent well over a thousand dollars on this game, through the store and on Kickstarter. If they start putting ads everywhere, I'll be completely done with this company.

My involvement has gone from enthusiast to part-time use due to the changes in gaming culture, e.g. watching people starting to charge for hosting FG games. It would be like charging TTRPG players for using my house to play a game. Now, you've suggested that the company put ads everywhere on their app.

It's their company, they can do what they want, but I won't feel bad removing and deleting my library and moving back to tabletop gaming if they make ads ubiquitous.

Most of the discussion on this topic has taken place in this thread: The New Launcher is a mess (https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?87593-The-New-Launcher-is-a-mess)
I'm going to close this thread so discussion can be centralized.
That thread also has response from SmiteWorks so its got the most relevant as well.
