Newer user, old DM. I am running a campaign for my wife and youngest son. My wife has expressed interest in playing an Adult game. (not lewd, just more thinking, less murder hobo) Somehow word of this has gotten around my family and social circle. Understandably a bunch of 40-somethings don't want to play elementary school depth plots. Many of them have not played in ten years or more, and I am excited that these fine folk have good enough memories of D&D in our youth to be jazzed about playing now. Enough background, the gist of the post is as follows:

My son's game is set up and we have been playing for about 2 months. All is good there. A few custom items are included for specific use in those games. NP, NP.

The game I want to run for the Adult Game would be completely different. Same world, but inclusions of some more exotic races. I want to run a version of Reverse D&D where the PCs are monsters looking to defend their home, learn why these evil human "monsters" are encroaching, etc. For this, I will need to create a bunch of custom content. This itself is no biggie either. But, I'd like to keep all this content for the World for possible later use.

How do I make module so I can move this from campaign to campaign, or is there an easier way to do it? I tried looking to google, but I just can't seem to frame my query right. Any help would be appreciated.

Try reviewing this wiki article:

In the Best Practices section, it suggests making a module development campaign that you use to create the content you want to be able to use in both campaigns (or any other campaign)

Yep, create all your custom content in a Development campaign :)

You can start by copying and renaming your existing campaign with your son, then remove all the stuff you don't want to keep in your Devl campaign. This then becomes your custom content campaign that you export to a module and then open in both campaigns. Then update the Devl campaign and re-export as needed. You might even want multiple develoment campaigns, maybe one with your adult custom player facing content so you can share that whole module with that group.

I create lots of custom devl campaigns as needed (one for each official module I modify) plus ones for settings and play campaigns. See the link in my signature for more details than the wiki as well as some discussion.

Cool, thanks! Making a third independent campaign to develop the custoom stuff did not occur to me. This will help. I appreciate it.
