Extension[CoreRPG]: Generate Custom Campaign Records in Story Templates
This is an extension I made for my own purposes and then decided to clean it up, document and share because I find it super handy for my games.
It allows you to create arbitrary campaign records, properly structured, inside story templates. For example: a Story Template containing custom generated NPC records, or any other data type defined in your ruleset.
I have always used a lot of Story Templates to generate stuff in my games, but my one issue has always been that story templates only output formatted text, and cannot create actual campaign records. So if I wanted to generate a random NPC in a story template, I could create the stats for an NPC in a table, but would then have to manually copy that into an NPC campaign record.
This extension creates a basic UI to define record templates that can be linked from a Story Template. When the template is generated, the linked Record Templates will be processed and replaced with links to newly created records generated according to their template definition.
There is also a record inspector that can be used to inspect the data structures of campaign records to make it easier to define templates.
There is probably a limited universe of people who are obsessed enough with Story Templates to actually want this, but for those people it can be a powerful tool for extending the functionality of story templates.
I have created full documentation explaining how to use it here:

And the extension is currently available here on Github:
