Sanity Check Regarding Class Features
Sorry I keep coming in here asking questions regarding 5E homebrew stuff.
I'm attaching a picture of the phrasing of a Spellcasting ability using the Charisma modifier for a custom class. I created a test character to ensure that the feature worked correctly.
Good news is that the spellcasting picked up on using the proficiency bonus (so yay), but the Charisma modifier isn't being added to either spell attack or spell DC. Did I do something wrong with phrasing the features?

The best way is to copy an example straight from the rulebook, and just edit the parts you need to change. It looks like it should work.
Is the Charisma being picked up in the group information when you click on the magnifying glass for any spells on the Actions tab?
Maybe you can post a quick export of the class as a module for us to look at?

Apologies for the delay. I'm attaching the module for you to review.
I didn't copy over all the flavor text from the Rogue class and the Arcane Trickster specialization (the Rogue class is unchanged but, obviously, you can't add new specializations to it given the sheet is locked and it's 5E core).
Also I can say safely that the Charisma isn't being picked up by the group information for spells on the Action tab. When I expanded it out, it showed +2 modifiers when they should've been +6 when I used a base Charisma modifier of +4 just to sanity check whether it was the Proficiency Bonus or the Charisma modifier being added.
I'm probably doing something stupid without realizing it rather than it being a bug.
Thank you so much for all your help!

You can't just add an archetype on its own. You need to replicate the entire class and add in the specialisation to that. Open the class tab within FG and drag the Rogue class back into the class tab to make a copy of the class. You can then edit the copy to add your archetype.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

I knew that I couldn't just add a specialization which is why I made an alternate temporarily blank Rogue class to hold it.
However, I went back to the drawing board and copied the Rogue class per your suggestion from the PHB and added it as a new tab for the module as Alternate Rogue. I then modified the Arcane Trickster specialization to call it the Charismatic Trickster specialization and swap the Intelligence modifier out for a Charisma one. I then created a player character of 3rd Level Alternate Rogue with 18 Charisma, giving that player the Charismatic Trickster feature. I then added Acid Splash and Fire bolt to the character's Action tab and looked at the results.
Acid Splash's Spell DC was set automatically to 10 (8 + proficiency) when it should be 14 (8 + proficiency + 4 Charisma modifier). Fire Bolt's ranged attack was also a 10 when it should be 14.
I'm attaching a copy of the exported module here for you to look at.

Well I just loaded up your module; created a character with the alternative rogue with 18 CHA to third level and gave it a couple of spells. The power group correctly shows Cha as the ability and the spell save DC is 14.

I don't know how you're doing it because this is what I get every time. I created a second test player to take screenshots and see if there was something wrong with my first one.
I got the same results save the Spell Save DC which is now showing up as 8.
Update: Fixed the issue where it was showing up as an 8 for Spell Save DC, but now it's back to showing 10. Updated the picture attached to reflect.
Update 2: Not sure why, but when in doubt CTRL-ALT-DELETE. Issue seems to be resolved.
Thank you for all your help.Last edited by Cybra; February 20th, 2018 at 23:32.
