DOE and DORCore questions regarding GURPS ruleset
ronnke,
I just wanted to make sure you and the GURPS community were aware of the GURPS-specific questions I asked dulux-oz and his response regarding the DOE extensions and DORCore going forward.

Happy to answer questions here (GURPs-specific) or there (DORCore-general) as required

Dulux-oz, Thank you for all your work. I apologize if you have explained this already... But with your new modified core, how difficult should it be for Ronnke to maintain compatibility with your stuff?

As far as I am aware(/concerned), not that difficult at all - once things are set up. That's one of the driving forces behind this re-design.
GURPS is a child of CoreRPG. By setting GURPS to be a child of DORCore and reworking (or perhaps even eliminating some of the (now) redundant) files that throw up any initial errors, everything else should be exactly the same. Then, in the future, all Brian has to do is check that GURPS is still OK after the CoreRPG and/or the DORCore is updated, as he does now - of course, most of the DORCore updates are not expected to touch GURPS-functionality at all (only DOE-like-functionality).
And as I've said on numerous occassions, I'm happy to guide any of the Community Ruleset Devs, new or existing, in basing/porting their Ruleset on DORCore.
Is there some work involved? Yes. Is it a lot of work? Not in my opinion. Will this improve things in the long run? That's certainly the plan.
Of course, its up to Ronnke - if he doesn't believe its worthwhile then its up to him to decide that. I'm not mandating that anyone do anything in any particular way, but I am specifying how I am going to be handling/supporting the things I create (have created) in the future - and providing a pathway for those who wish to use/integrate my creations - people can follow this path or another path as they choose.Last edited by dulux-oz; February 14th, 2018 at 08:45.

Excellent! Excellent choice!
So, if you need a guide and/or run into difficulty please let me know.
I've also got some of the GURPS-specific graphics, etc, if you want them.
And as one Dev to another, if there is any way of improving on the UDR to make it easier to use with GURPs, etc, then again, please let me know.Dulux-Oz
