    Welcome!

A NPC object in FG or a PC object in FG that you are using as anon-player character?

Assuming you mean a PC object that you are using as an NPC...
In most rulesets (maybe all?) the GM can simply open any PC character sheet and use it like a player can.
I believe in all CoreRPG child rulesets, you can open the PC list and right click and "Take Ownership". Then the players can not take control or use the PC.

If you mean something else, let us know.

I am currently running on pen & paper, with the hopes of converting to FG. As the GM, I also control a couple of characters that accompanies the group. I have seen videos on how to loin your own game as a player to run those characters but I really dont want to be shifting between instances of FG, unless that's the only way to do this

The GM has access to all of the PC data in their own session. No need to run a player instance.

The main reason people run a second instance and connect as a player is either to display on a second screen to people at a table, or while learning FG to get a good idea of what the players actually see.
