Let us hope so! I was practically salivating over their demo displaying the weather effects and dynamic lighting!

I see something was said about a kickstarter for FGU? Any details on when that will open up?

No. Nothing has been certain. Only possibilities have been mentioned.

I know this is not going to be the first iteration of FGU but I'm dreaming of it: https://youtu.be/bSAasp4IQAk

I think you will have some animation available.

Yes I already saw those videos. I hope to see the real potential of unity used as soon as possible 😊

Don't make me post links to Carl's tabletop connect 3d vtt ... Now that was awesome 3D. Oh the heck with and sorry Carl Gherrion created some beautiful maps using the program and was most creative with bread stick just FYI for the newer FG users, Carl merged with FG and has been working on the FGU stuff. I still use it to create maps with as well, plowing through undermountain level 1 with my group about 6 months ago.

Yes I know that too. But let me say the maps on the link i posted are definitely more polished in terms of lighting and shadow effects ( no offense )

I'm pretty sure we'll end in that state at some point. I wonder when... in my head it looks like we'll not see this soon... probably a matters of years.

Looks more like a 3D environment, not just animation. Pretty for sure. Hard to build for most folks. Imagine trying to build something like an entire level of a dungeon in a 3D environment like that. Animating objects/etc... Unity certainly has the ability to do this but I couldn't build a adventure in it (not unity, FGU) because I am no 3D artist or animator. There is something called Talespire that's going neck deep in this style tho.

When I createa maps sometimes I buy tokens and I compose the map.

I'm not a 3d artist but there's space for a market right there. 3d models sold for virtual table top maps.
