It's now been released. There is a version 02 of the Basic D&D rules too. I don't know what the differences are. You can get them here: https://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/basicrules

Main changes to Player Basic Rules v0.2 include:

New Acid Splash and Poison Spray Wizard Cantrips.
New Noble background.
New appendix containing the Forgotten Realms deities.
New appendix containing descriptions of the five factions that feature in the D&D Adventurers League.
Legal text added to the footer to allow reproduction for personal purposes.

Also, DM Basic Rules v0.1 has been released, it mainly includes Monsters, NPCs, Magic Items and some rules on Customisation of NPCs and Combat Encounters.
