    C&C and Saving Throws

With life being a bit complicated right now, looking to play something easier and familiar to me. C&C fits the desire to go back to the old school days. Seems like minimal effort needed to run some of the old modules (I own a ton) and just play out of the pages, so to speak. However, I am running into an early hurdle....

Is there any automation or FG assistance with spellcasting that require saving throws? I toss a spell at or from a NPC and see simply things like "dexterity half". No rolls happen from it. And if I apply the damage button, full damage is applied regardless of saving throw (made manually). Quite possible I am doing something wrong.

I know how to get aura's and effects to work for things like Divine Aura or bonuses on holy weapons or such, but getting saves to work, etc., have perplexed my so far.

Thus, is there any automation for saving throws or is that all done manually?

PS: I have the have some version C&C Player's Handbook and the Creatures and Treasures which I believe was a purchased ruleset. I do not have the newer Forge version by the looks of it (at least, it shows a BUY option for each rather than an OWNED display) .

The C&C ruleset is being managed by the folks at Troll Lord Games; and published by them on the Forge. You may need to reach out to them with your questions.

I know that the C&C ruleset in general is pretty automation light compared to D&D or Pathfinder rulesets.

The C&C ruleset will let you know what save to manually roll - you then look at the target and determine if they are prime for physical, mental, or both. When a player uses a damage spell they announce the spell, hit cast, we determine the targets, then I manually roll the saves for each target (or you can opt to rolls once for all). I then have the player roll damage in chat without targeting - I then drag over the full damage to the targets who failed and then right click to 1/2 damage and drag the half damage to the remaining who saved.

Depending on what system you used before, C&C may indeed be a little lighter on automation than you are accustomed to. Lexfire is steering you in the right direction.

TLG has said they are working on a plan to ensure the ruleset and the DLC modules (PHB, M&T, etc...) are maintained, updated and kept current. They are also about 6 weeks behind schedule on communicating what the plan is, but hopefully that will get straightened out soon (portions of the ABP on the Forge for example do not work currently in FG).
