I'm getting all kinds of errors. The first when starting:
    error 1.png

The second when opening the "Other" tab on a Culture:
    error 2.png

The Third when trying to create a new Trait for a Culture:
    error 3.png

Wanted to share some of the errors I'm seeing. I wanted to get some suggestions on how to fix. I created all the Callings, the Cultures I have access to, the Backgrounds, the Virtues, the weapons and armor, several NPCs. I don't know if there is a way to share any of that so folks can see it and make comments or suggestions.

Here are some of the errors I'm getting.
Note I have no other extensions activated. I only have the 5E SRD module activated.

    When I load the campaign:
Script execution error: [string "..e Rings Roleplaying:..ManagerModified.lua"]:2: attempt to index global 'CharWizardRaceManager' (a nil value)
Script execution error: [string "..e Rings Roleplaying:.._char_race_lotr.lua"]:2: attempt to index global 'CharRaceManager' (a nil value)

When opening an item I created or item from the SRD:
a series of lines that say: window: Control (type or rarity or divider5 or subtype_stat, etc) anchoring to an undefined control (columnanchor) in windowclass (item_main)
Script execution error: [string "C:item_main:rarity"]:16: attempt to index field 'rarity_label' (a nil value)

When I open the Other tab on a Culture I created:
windowlist: Could not find windowclass (ref_racial_subrace)
windowlist: Could not find windowclass (ref_racial_trait)

When I open the Other tab on a Behavior I created:
Two rarnings, one for skill_label and one for skill: [WARNING] window: Unable to locate control (skill_label or skill) specified in insertbefore attribute for control (StringCultureBackground_lavel) in windowclass (reference_background_main)
Multiple errors for StringCultureBackground, skill, tool: [ERROR] window: Control (StringCultureBackground) anchoring to an undefined control (columnanchor) in windowclass (reference_background_main)

Thanks to the fixes and contributions from Psicodelix and Noalco, I’ve been able to upload a new version of this extension that now allows normal gameplay for LotR 5e. I reckon most of the issues have been resolved—at least the major ones.

Known bugs still awaiting a fix:
    • The character wizard isn’t currently usable. For creating characters, the best method at the moment is to drag elements from the sidebar menus onto the main tab of a player’s character sheet, just like we used to do in FG before the character wizard was introduced.

Please let me know in this thread if you find any other bugs.

Sorry for having neglected this extension. Our time is limited, and the constant changes and improvements to FG’s inner workings over the last few months haven’t exactly helped us keep this extension fully up to date.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Hello, thanks for your report.

I wouldn’t recommend using data from the SRD or any other official 5e module. The 5eLotR extension makes significant changes to the database for classes (callings), races (cultures), feats (virtues), and so on. Because of that, it’s understandable that information from those official modules might not display correctly and could even cause errors. That’s entirely up to each individual, but I’ve gone ahead and created my own modules by manually importing data from the game PDF. Doing it that way, you shouldn’t run into any issues beyond the ones I mentioned in my previous post.

That said, I believe most of the issues you’ve mentioned are likely fixed in the new version I just uploaded, although some errors will still pop up until the character wizard is properly updated for 5eLotR. Other than the initial annoyance when those errors appear, they shouldn’t actually stop you from playing the game or using the extension as normal. If that’s not the case, please let me know.

    Hello, thanks for your report.

Errors #2 and #3 shouldn’t be happening anymore. Could you please confirm?

As for the console errors shown in Image 1, I’m afraid they’ll continue to appear until we fix the character wizard.

Hello, thanks for your report, and I’m sorry I didn’t fix this or reply sooner.

The item windows should be working fine now, apart from the minor bug with “Starting Gear” items that I mentioned a few posts back. The functionality and visibility of subwindows based on an item’s type and rarity should be behaving correctly. Could you please let me know if that’s not the case?

    Thanks,

I just discovered that one of the bugs reported by Turin71 is, unfortunately, still not fixed. On top of that, I think this one is quite important, and I’m adding it to the list of bugs to fix:

There’s an error when you switch to the “Other” tab in a background, and the fields and information don’t display correctly.

The following two known bugs have been fixed:

    • Being able to drag and drop mount-type items into the mount list in a journey log.
    • There’s an error when you switch to the “Other” tab in a background, and the fields and information don’t display correctly.

The list of remaining known issues has been updated in post #73.

Thank you. The only reason I am using the SRD is because I don't want to create every single item. I created everything else including all the weapons and armors. Maybe with some more time I can go ahead and create the missing items.

I have a silly question. I feel I should know this by now. But do I have to do anything when the extension is updated? Meaning do I have to download it again.

That's not a silly question. All you have to do is "Check for updates" in the FG main menu. Press that button even if it's not outlined in green, and the extension's latest version will be downloaded.
