I ran into an issue due to the method of my testing of the connection. Credit goes to Zacchaeus for identifying my issue.
I was testing my ability to connect to my FG server by launching FG twice from the same computer. One instance was running as the server, while the second instance would attempt to connect using the external IP address. The connection was being refused, even though PortChecker sites indicated that the 1802 port was open. Once I had an external user connect using my alias, the connection was successful.
In the past I've successfully used this method of testing to determine if I could host a FG session. Either Xfinity changed something, or my new Arris Surfboard SBG8300 router, doesn't allow my computer to connect to itself using the external IP address. With the solution in hand, I read through the first two posts of this thread, and couldn't find a note that indicated that my method of testing would result in a false negative.
I'd recommend adding a note about testing the connection requires someone external to conduct the test.
Thanks to those that helped through the years to put together all the information here!

It's called hairpinning, not all routers support it. Usually consumer level equipment does not support it, so I am surprised that your Comcast router worked, maybe UPnP configured it for you previously, and your new router does not support it.
Anyway, glad you got it all worked out.

Just start configuring my FG today. I follow all the advice but it doesn't work
1. Your LAN IP Address
R: 192.168.0.20
2. The first two sets (octects) of your WAN IP as displayed by Fantasy Grounds and as displayed by your Router
R: 192.168.***.*** from Default Gateway of cmd ipconfig
3. Whether you are using Wired or Wireless (and not both)
R: Wireless
4. Confirmation that you have set your Adapter in Network and Sharing Centre to Private
R: Set to private, done.
5. Confirmation of what AV you are running and whether you have set any exceptions
R: Kaspersky Security Cloud Personal, and set exception to Inbound/outbound TCP for port 1802 and any address

6. Post the results of the tracert 8.8.8.8 command (if you have security concerns you can remove this bit once its been responded to)
R:
1 3 ms 18 ms 4 ms 192.168.0.1
2 22 ms 23 ms 21 ms CableLink-200-188-159-93.Hosts.Cablevision.com.mx [200.188.159.93]

Hi Adan - its not 100% - but very likely you cant port forward if your router has a 10.something WAN address.
Give your ISP a call and tell them -
"I have a new home security system going in and it needs an IPv4 port forward. Can you help me set that up?"
If they can help you give them your PC LAN IP address and TCP port 1802 and ask them to set that up.
Otherwise report back what they say.

Hey there! After wanting to test some things for my new campaign I discovered that sadly, my friends can no longer connect to me.
It did work in the past but I took a break from GMing for a while so whatever screwed this up probably went unnoticed.
At first I thought my router simply assigned me a new IP so the old port forwarding rule was no longer valid but no dice, IP was still the same. (Did try to recreate the rule regardless)
Anyway, here's the usual info dump I am hoping for some help!
1. Your LAN IP Address
192.168.178.37
2. The first two sets (octects) of your WAN IP as displayed by Fantasy Grounds and as displayed by your Router
FG shows 88.130.152.190
Router also shows 88.130.152.190
3. Whether you are using Wired or Wireless (and not both)
Wired
4. Confirmation that you have set your Adapter in Network and Sharing Centre to Private
Yup, set to Private.
5. Confirmation of what AV you are running and whether you have set any exceptions
Windows Defender and I did manually set the TCP 1802 rule for inbound connections.
6. Post the results of the tracert 8.8.8.8 command (if you have security concerns you can remove this bit once its been responded to)
tracert.png
7. Confirmation as to what you have setup in your Router if changes have been made
I set up the port forwarding rule for the TCP port 1802 for my PC.
8. Confirmation you do or do not have any Virtualisation NICs
No NICs whatsoever.

Welcome Barkashur
If you look at your tracert you can see another 192.168 address in there.
Everything else looks ok.
I would call your ISP and tell them you have a security system being installed and it needs an IPv4 port forward - can they help.
See what they say.

Used to have a lot of challenges getting FG to work with Port Forwarding but eliminating the Xfinity "extra protection" seemed to work. Since then, the connection has mainly worked but sometimes I have to run VPN to have the connection test pass. I would have to say that I am not comfortable with how inconsistent this has been.
I successfully installed a new TP-Link Deco Mesh Network two weekends ago and hosted a session last Monday - WITH NO ISSUES.
I tried to run a session this past Monday and I could not get the test to pass. Ran VPN, shut if off - multiple times. Rebooted computer, no luck. Set the port forwarding in the Deco app that came with the network, but no luck. To be honest, I am not sure I exactly dialed it in (as I am a neophyte) but the connection worked last week so I dont know why the port forwarding was even necessary. I also checked to see if xfinity had reintroduced the extra protection and they have not - I have it permanently disabled.
I really need some advice now because I am at the end of available options. The primary people I play with have started really looking into Shard and Foundry as options since those offerings dont seem to have this requirement for esoteric system networking knowledge. In fact, one of them that has a lifetime FG license has already pushed quite a bit of money into the Shard kickstarter because of shortcomings we continue to see.
My tracert on 8.8.8.8 was as follows:
Tracing route to dns.google [8.8.8.8]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 32 ms 33 ms 34 ms 10.14.238.143
2 37 ms 42 ms 39 ms 216.182.237.193

15 36 ms 34 ms 34 ms dns.google [8.8.8.8]
Trace complete.
My internal IP is (currently) 192.168.68.63 and external IP is 54.151.106.55
Any assistance would certainly be appreciated.

You don't mention whether your network is set to private and whether you have enabled exceptions in your anti virus for FG. Also I believe that the x-finity thing needs to be re done every 30 days or so.
Whilst I don't know networking very well your internal IP address looks off. (the 68 bit does not look right). If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php
