Em, but if you set everything through line 1 won't you lose all of your other sounds for everything and also the main voice for TS; or am I misunderstanding what you are saying. This is all on one computer I should say and following the guide above I only need to set up line 1 for this specific thing. Right?

If you're running this all on one computer then yes, anything that you can't individually control it's output will go to line 1 and be transmitted by the sound effects/music portion of TeamSpeak. If you're using two TS instances, you can control where the main (GM) TS instance sends it's sounds - so that's OK. If you're playing music/SFX as well, then there's probably not many (if any) other sounds you'll want to listen to on your computer. Or see if an individual app has the ability to specify it's output.

Or, if you have an old laptop lying around, use that just for TS and your music/SFX. This is what I do.

Thanks, Trenloe. I think you have answered my question. I'll play around with all of this after FGCon, since this Syrinscape thing looks pretty cool. I'm not a music lover so I have virtually no suitable music that I could play even if I wanted to. I can't really see The Beatles White Album or Abba's Greatest hits being at all useful, but the stuff on Syrunscape seems pretty good for just a few pounds a month.

I look out for games on special offer on GoG and see if they include the soundtracks as an extra. For example, for $5.99 you can get Temple of Elemental Evil that in the "included goodies" section mentions "in-game soundtrack". For this you get 54 MP3 files (although only 25 are probably usable as background music), from location background music to combat tracks. Keep an eye on GOG, they usually have the D&D games on special a few times a year - great music to have looping in the background.

For spooky locations look up the group Midnight Syndicate - their albums are great for horror/spooky locations, and their D&D album (yes, they did an official D&D background music album) is very cool.

Although, I think "Dancing Queen" could be used a few times too!

I think you guys have got this figured out, but just in case... I use Syrinscape, TS, Audacity, and soundplant. VAC has its own channel to teamspeak.

Syrinscape will use whatever is set as default, when it is started up, until you shut it down as its output. So, I set VAC as default, start Syrinscape. Then I reset the default to my normal headset, and start up teamspeak as normal.

Ah, yeah - good idea. Just remember to have set as default what you want before you start an app - and if you have to restart the app later, use the same settings.

I've cobbled together a screenshot of some rpg music I've collected over the years. Perhaps it can give you some ideas. Most of it comes from iTunes. There is an internet radio station that plays non-stop rpg-music at https://www.radiorivendell.com/ too.

Thanks Mellock that's pretty impressive. I think it's the sound effects I'm going for though; music is too intrusive for me.

Thanks a lot for the tutorial, I'm not using it for continuous music playing but it works like a charm to play some sounds during gameplay. Just scared my girlfriend with a zombie moaning on teamspeak
