    New d20 License up

I haven't read it yet but WotC has put up a new GSL for 4E: https://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/welcome

ENWorld said in their Monday 3/2 news section that several sections that caused a stir in the old 4E GSL have been removed. https://www.enworld.org/index.php?page=news

Primarily the section on "We can change this at any time and you have no recourse" and "If you accept, no more selling 3.x e stuff EVER" was changed to "We can change this, and you have the right to opt out, during which you have 6 months to sell off your remaining 4e stock".

They also added a bunch to the SRD that is included in the "No Modification clause" that basically says "You may not change Dwarves, druids, Elves, cosmology, etc" from the WotC version.

    Hrmm...

Seems to me like Gygax's beliefs that so strongly followed D&D and d20 systems in general through and up to 3.5e died with him with these new licenses in place.

They even went so far as to expressly prohibit sexual situations and nudity from new material made for 4e by 3rd parties. Well there goes thoughts of a 4e version of the Book of Erotic Fantasy.

Though from reading through this I will take something with me. Wizards has turned its back on the community with this new 'Game System License' Rather than giving the power to the gamers to create supplemental material for use with the game system, they have put shackles and chains over the hands an feet of anyone who would have gladly remade their material to fit the next generation of the system.

I am glad that my initial feelings towards 4e now have even more reason to keep me working with 3.5e and 3e material.

He was once asked for his thoughts on 4e before he died... reportedly the response was unprintable.
