Fantasy Grounds II @ 2048x1536
So... I don't think I'll be using 2 monitors anymore. :P I got this huge 21" CRT monitor from work for $5, and my fiance was using it. When I hooked it up, I dropped the refresh down to 60 Hz, just to see what resolution it could pull. 2048x1536! So instead of using two monitors, I've switched to this:
FG2 @ 2048x1536
That AFK window is 700x700, the default max map size in FG.Last edited by Xorn; June 30th, 2010 at 21:11.

60Hz on a CRT makes my head hurt. My old 21" would do 1920x1440 at 70Hz, though, which was pretty nice, except over time it started to lose its focus a bit, making text really hard to read.
Sacrificing the 240 vertical pixels to get the inherent sharpness of an LCD monitor was well worth it for me, though. The Box ruleset modification:

Oooh, spacious.....
Love my two monitors, easier for me to organize things (game play on one side, note son the other).
Nice AFK imageDM: For reference sake, when a bad guys dies, I'll turn their token over. So an upside down 'A' or 'B' means it's a corpse.
PC 1: So if we kill a 'M' is it reincarnated as a 'W'?
PC 2: That damn 'O' just won't die!

I can't do 60hz on a CRT either. The flicker drives me crazy.
Nice huge area though.

I like my two 24" widescreens... Gives me enough room for everything.

I really need to get a VGA cable so I can hook my laptop up to my 42" LCD HDTV with 1:1 pixel ratio, just for shits and jiggles.
Although my fiance might kill me for ignoring her AND hogging the TV.

and lets not forget the back strain from moving a 21" crt.

I like the way you think, calvinNhobbes. I've got a big (relatively) 32" 1080p that would be perfect for some FG2. Maybe I'll try it this week!

Hm, well, while that would definitely be awesome, remember that most large HDTVs have resolutions that are comparable to much smaller monitors. 720p is comparable to about a 17" widescreen monitor. 1080p is much better, comparable to about 22". Plus, if you're using a projection (rear or otherwise) HDTV, their pixels are more like circles and it's hard to read text on them, even if you manage to get a pixel 1:1 ratio.
If this is useless, sorry, just some info about a situation I've been dealing with lately...
