LFP Wednesday, 10AM - 2PM CST (9 - 1 EST) D&D 2024, Homebrew Setting
Howdy,
FG License: I have ultimate so all you need is free
Game System: 5e 2024 w/some homebrew for setting
Time Zone: i.e. Central Time USA
Day of week and time: Wednesday 10 AM - 2 PM (negotiable, but "during the day" is the general idea)
If new game, planned start date: As soon as enough players are in place
Planned Duration & Frequency: 3 - 4 hour session weekly
Term: Long term
Text or Voice: Discord for both, voice required
Main Language used: i.e. English and bad English
Voice software used: Discord
Will this be recorded and/or live streamed? nope
Roleplay & Combat mix: I lean toward role play myself but tend to be responsive to what the players desire
Number of Players in game & needed: 4 minimum, up to 6 or 7
Character starting level & equipment: 1st level characters
Character restrictions: Point Buy or Standard Array Only. This setting does not include Tieflings or Aasimar at all, and Goliaths are exceedingly rare for story reasons. A homebrewed Minotaur race is available. Many races and subclasses have "fluff" alterations for setting (two examples being that drow are not directly related to elves and do not worship Lolth, they survive as brutal clans of bandits dwelling in caves near the surface, living in fear of their deeper dwelling cousins, whom they escaped generations ago, and the Eldritch Knight Subclass is only available to members of an actual specific Knighthood, with the mission of policing rogue warlocks and sorcerers). I have a setting reference document available on google drive.
Details of your scenario: I'd like to run the adventures from the anthology Tales of the Yawning Portal, strung together as a campaign, with the players operating out of a "hub city" and significant character building/world building opportunities in-between the larger scale dungeon crawls. I really enjoy the joint storytelling aspect of DMing, and hope to weave a fun, memorable story together... but I also don't necessarily have the time week to week to create new dungeons wholecloth.
ALTERNATIVELY I'd be open to running Tomb of Annihilation in a similar fashion, except that to make it work with the setting I'll have to treat it as a recently discovered/newly accessible part of the world, which is fine. I understand that for many the "hex crawl" style of ToA is formidable and honestly, I'm more inclined to transform it into a more linear, guided exploration of the new realm myself anyway, so probably less focus on the day to day survival and more on the harrowing adventure and the relationships the characters build, etc.
If you are interested or have questions, please respond here so that others can see there is interest, but ALSO feel free to message me directly at any time.
