Changing rulesets
A while ago I made my own copies of CoreRPG.pak because I was hacking it and I didn't want it to change. I am trying to temporarily change back for my game ruleset but it doesn't seem to work. I created a copy of my game ruleset to point to CoreRPG, then I went into the campaign.xml file and edited the <ruleset></ruleset> tag, however when I load the campaign, it changes back. What am I missing? Thanks.

I'm not following what you are doing.
Some notes:
* FG must be closed whenever anything is edited manually like this; or change anything in the FG data folder hierarchy (naming, etc.)
* The ruleset tag in the campaign.xml tells FG which ruleset "key" to use for loading rulesets.
* The ruleset key maps to the folder name or file name (<rulesetkey>.pak).
* Any folders in the FG data folder in the rulesets subfolder will override and .pak versions of the ruleset.

Ok I got it to work, however it seems that everything is broken when I go to the new CoreRPG. The old still kind of works except the pointers don't work anymore. This is what I was afraid of, I am kind of screwed now, I made a lot of changes to my game and corerpg rulesets (yes, I should have used extensions).

You should be able to change the folder name of the corerpg ruleset that you changed. Something like 'myCore' and change the tag in your campaign to 'myCore'. Then campaigns can be created either with the real CoreRPG or myCore.

Any changes you think you should make to CoreRPG should always be encapsulated in your own ruleset. You should not be making changes to CoreRPG ever; since that is code driven by us and tied to the standard UI elements.
You'll need to pull all your changes into your own ruleset coding.
