Lagging issues for players
Over the last month or two, my players - in both games that I run - are reporting serious lagging issues when playing. Noticeable delays in trying to move their characters, and in trying to resolve attacks. This has not been the case prior to this. Are there any settings I can work on to improve this - it is reaching the point of unplayability for many of them.

Are these long running campaigns? Every 6 months or so do the following:
- Unshare images and content that is no longer needed
- Rename the Chatlog.html file to something like chatlog-<date>.html

Thanks for the suggestions. I have followed them and I will see how it runs tonight.

I began having the same issues during my last session as well as a short session for a new player to make a new character to join the long running group. I will try the suggestions that were made and see if it helps. The lag issues were from the time players loaded in as it took them a considerable time to even see the character selection screen.

Recently there was a change to the FG code to load all owned characters when a player logs in. If a player owns a few characters in the campaign, fully loading FG was taking longer than normal. This behavior will be changed slightly in the next application release, info here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...l=1#post740800
Private Messages: My inbox is forever filling up with PMs. Please don't send me PMs unless they are actually private/personal messages. General FG questions should be asked in the forums - don't be afraid, the FG community don't bite and you're giving everyone the chance to respond and learn!

I applied the suggested changes - unloading all modules that aren't currently being used, and renaming the chat history so a new chat history starts. This helped, and my players reported that the lag was not as bad as previously, but it is still present. In the campaign most affected by lag issues, none of the players have more than one character, and I suspect most of them don't have any other characters in Fantasy Grounds, although I know one or two do. My internet connection is ok, but not great. It is, however, the best I can get without doubling what I am currently paying. Is this a case that FG is simply getting too crunchy for people who don't have top level connectivity?

Here's some suggestions for things to look out for https://fantasygroundsunity.atlassia...roubleshooting
Lag can be present if you have a lot going on at once and/or you or one of the players has a slow internet connection or are using an older computer that isn't quite up to the minimum requirements.. Ensure everyone has whitelisted FGVTT in their anti virus (this includes Windows Defender if that's all you are using). Try to not have too much stuff shared - especially a lot of large images.
There are many other things which might cause lag but the above would be the main things to look into.If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

It sounds like, for the short session for the new player, you were doing character creation and not using an maps. Is this accurate? We're looking into some lag issues and it would help if we could identify whether the issues are limited to sessions with map use or are also present when not using maps. Thanks.
