Bracketed ability tags confusion
When I've been going through the documentation it seems like adding effects that have scaling modifiers based on abilities is there, but it seems like it only works when done within the weapon/spell interface, is this right and there's no way to make an effect that scales with ability mods or am I missing something (mainly confused as the effect builder plugin has spots to add them and I could never get them to actually apply).
The bit of the documentations that seems relevent is below, just trying to understand where the bounds are here.
When applying effects from PC sheet powers, bracketed ability tags ([STR],[DEX],...) can be added to the modifier dice and numerical portion to adjust by current PC attribute modifiers. The ability tags can be set to negative ([-INT]), half ([HWIS]) or double ([2CHA]).
Thanks!

The tags get substituted with the current values when the effect is added from the PC actions tab (i.e from within a "spell" entry) to the target in the Combat Tracker. As the numbers are applied as the effect is added, they won't change once in the CT. If you need to change the effect to use current values, remove the effect from the CT and apply the effect again from the PC sheet.
