Tomb of Annihilation (5e/2014) LF1M Player (Fridays/7:30 PM EST)
**I've gotten a few expressions of interest through direct "mail", I appreciate the interest. Recruitment is on pause right now. A new player is giving the group a trial run for lack of better wording for a few sessions.*** - updated 1/18/25
FG License: Ultimate (player can have any)
Game System: 5e (2014 rules)
Time Zone: Eastern US (EST)
Day of week and time: Fridays 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm
Planned Duration & Frequency: 3 hours. Weekly Game.
Term: This *IS NOT* a new game, we've played for over a year based on the calendar. Group is more than 50% to the end game, but that's still several months of play sessions left. There's two main dungeons in this campaign, we didn't start those yet. So don't be shy to apply for fear there's only a few weeks of content -- This has potential to go into the summer.
Text or Voice: Voice (required btw)
Main Language used: English (required you speak and understand fluently)
Voice software used: Discord
Will this be recorded and/or live streamed? No.
Number of Players in game & needed:5 players in game, seeking 1 more.
Character starting level & equipment: I'll give you a guide, but you'll be starting at 9th level.
Character restrictions: Only official Wotc 5e classes, but again I'll give you a guide that gives the actual list of books approved. There is nothing custom allowed though.
Details of your scenario:
Wotc's Tomb of Annihilation. First I prefer players who have NOT played the game yet, though I change things anyway so it wouldn't be exact to you even if you have photographic memory of the book. Jungle adventure to recover a relic known as the "Soul Monger" which in turn is the source of the Death Curse. The Death Curse affects the entire planet. If you die death is permanent while the curse still exists. There's other consequences as well - but those details will be learned in game.
Things for Potential Players To Know:
- I really want players who are reliable and can make far more sessions than they can't. That said there's an "automatic" cancelled session every 6-7 weeks because that's my on-call rotation schedule. That said the next game I know will 100% be canceled is 2/14/25.
- The normal applies though "Life beats Game". Work, Family issues, health issues, etc. Of course you tend to those before game.
- Myself and two of my players are 50 or older, I believe the others are all at least 30 years old, if you want to know the maturity of the group.
- Finally, my DM style is *NOT* strict RAW, I use RAW as the foundation for certain, but I try to strike balance to "not being outlandish against RAW but I also want the players to have fun and be creative". I guess one term is "Rule of Cool" (but I hate that saying, it sounds silly.
)
Thanks for your time.
If interested you can reply here, but I prefer you send me a direct forum message so I see it in my inbox. I log into the site several times a week.
