DnD 5E 2d20 added together on attack
Hi,
I've been looking through a couple of "chatlog.html" files (don't judge) ;-)
And I found a few occurrences where two d20s seem to have been added together for an attack
This is in DnD 5E, I don't think there's a rule that covers this, right?
These were attacks from NPCs found in purchased modules
Red Slaad 2: [ATTACK (M)] Bite [2d20+6 = 30]
Knight 5: [ATTACK (M)] Greatsword [2d20+5 = 16]
Blemys2:[ATTACK(M)]Grab[2d20+ 9 = 33]
It's obviously not "advantage" since you can't get 30 with a +6 or 33 with a +9...
Is there a rule? or is this a bug?
Thanks

I tested the Red Slaad and the Knight from the MM and their attacks are only using 1d20 as expected. I don't know what Blemys2 is. I'd need to see your NPC sheets for those NPCs - there may be a clue in them. Also if you are using extensions test in a new campaign without them to see if you can replicate the error. If not then it's probably an extension that is the issue.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

If you inadvertantly click the right click button when you are preparing to roll the dice, it will add an extra dice of the type you have picked up. To reproduce, drag an attack roll from the combat tracker and while dragging it, right-click once to add another d20. The result will show that 2d20 was rolled. If you see that you accidentally do this in chat, you can just reroll the attack and the newest attack will take precedent for any subsequent damage roll.

On our side it's not a big issue
It's quite rare and it could indeed be related to an addon
But, in our last campaign I believe we removed all addons
We should be able to spot it if it happens again
I just wanted to know if i was missing something
Thanks! :-)

Ah yes, that's definitely possible, I will test this :-)
Yup that's it! right-click and a second d20 is added
Thanks!Last edited by fantasymbo; February 12th, 2024 at 16:42.
