    Module Library Data Entries

For modules that have it in what ways would you like to be able to use the Library Data?

I have seen in most adventure modules that actually have a Library Data section that all the content is just one Story entry or one page in the reference manual. This does not seem particularly useful to anyone except the GM and then only somewhat.

Do you somehow allow players to use the library Data?

Would it be beneficial to have individual Story entries for each one that players can refer to? There does not seem to be an ability to /export Notes entries, so that's probably out as an option.

I am curious because I am in the process of converting a few adventure modules for MGT2 and an curious what way would be most helpful to the GM and the Travellers.

    Thanks.

I prefer Story entries to make it easy to share to the players.

Setting them up in the chunks of data is the artistic part. How much to put in each entry, how to format each entry, etc.

I like to share most things with the players so they can pop into FG to check on something anytime they want (I leave my game up 24/7) so when they are writing posts they can refer back to things.

When I played the pen and paper version of Traveller we had the little black book versions for the Library Data and I always let the players have access to the info in those books.

I figure that the Library Data Story entries would just be shared before the module gets exported so they have access to them from the start.

Short of someone creating a side button for Library Data I don't know of a better way to get them the data. I wish there was one big Library Data module with everything from the Traveller setting so when the players looked at the data it was a ton of entries that also contained the stuff for the adventure that they could search through as they see fit.

If you want to have data that the players can access then create a campaign just for the purpose of creating either story entries or (my recommendation) reference pages and then export that as a players module. This module will automatically be shared with your players when they log into your game.
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

I'd go with Zacchaeus's recommendation - create a single Reference manual (using a module making campaign) which will allow searching of the whole reference manual.

Creating new Reference Manual to include all the potential library data in a campaign would be one huge file.

I will have to check to see if the extension for searching does look inside of all modules but that is only on the GM side I think.
