Interesting. I wonder if that's the crux of the issue, relating to UTF-8 vs. ASCII encoding.

I haven't built the updater helper app before (FantasyGroundsUpdater), since it was done by a Mac developer we had last year who moved on. I "think" it's not a Unity app; but a native app for each platform. So, I'm going to have to do some internal research on how to make a new build; and whether whichever compiler scenario it is built-in can address the issue by forcing encoding somehow.
