Is there a way to play music inside Fantasy Grounds?

Like a spotify plugin or something?

Not within Fantasy Grounds natively. As you might have seen there are a number of modules/extensions from Mattekure and Celestian that handle some audio with Syrinscape but sending to your players requires an outside option such as discord, cleanfeed, vdo.ninja, etc.. I have a number of youtube videos with options if you are interested.

Don’t know if you sorted out your sound solution yet for your fgu games. I’ve toiled with trying to find the balance of fairly simple to setup with good sound quality. The best solution I’ve found is using a combination of products…

    1. I use discord for my voice option. With that I created an audio pipe discord bot (I called it discordbard).

    2. I bought virtual audio cables for like $10 or something cheap like that.

    3. The VAC and discordbard bot were the key. Once I got that working well all my sound sources feed through the bot straight into discord. There’s no static the sound is stereo and it’s good quality.

I use mattekures syrinscape sound link and chat trigger mods (best mods ever made for fantasy grounds in terms of usefulness IMO, he really knocked it out of the park with those) picked both those up for $25 via the FG forge.

    Last part

I just install the syrinscape online player on my laptop (my laptop is my sound computer; I run fgu from my desktop) I also use battlebards and both pump through the bot to discord.

It’s a beautiful thing. Also with my setup my players don’t need the hassle of individual syrinscape player installs either.

Anyway just thought I’d share my setup hoping it encourages you to do similar for good sound but with out a lot of complicated steps.

I did the same thing with no investment: I use VB-Audio Virtual Cable (free) and Audio Overseer (also free). I use both Syrinscape Fantasy Player for manually playing sound effects and the Online players for triggered sound effects. I also set the the audio output of an MP3 player for occasional specific music, and a second browser (Edge, in my case) to output to the virtual cable for the eventual YouTube video source of audio.

Discord Audio Pipe is amazing. The only caveat is a very old known bug where he only plays audio for people that were in the room when the bot connected. if people connects after the bot, sometimes they do not listen to the audio. You can workaround just moving the bot between rooms right before the game starts just to make sure everybody can listen to it.

    Discord+Vb-Audio Cable+Audio Overseer + Kenku FM.
Kenku FM is way better than Discord Audio Pipe. Try it, it is pay what you want.

I tried Kenku didn’t like it

My setup as described above is better for my needs. Kenku was actually less convenient. I pull sound from syrinscape online player battlebards (website) and sometimes YouTube. What’s easier than just playing the sounds? That’s all I have to .

Also I never have issues with my audio pipe bot . Join before join after the bot my players and I still hear the audio just fine.

But anyway whatever works use right?

If you are a Mac user then Kenku FM is the solution because audio pipe doesn't work with macOS. Kenku FM does everything audio pipe does and more.

Likely a symptom of so much on my mind these days that my memory forgets certain things. There was definitely a thing that put me off with Kenku FM I remember that much. Because at the start I was thinking "this is fantastic I don't even have to make a bot and its just working" but I did testing and something put me off that's like "oh but that's simpler the way I do things now.."

I'll have to check it , probably won't get to it for a few days, but I'll re-test and actually write down my issue and maybe someone on this thread and can say "no that's because you just do....[fill in the blank]".
