This campaign will prominently feature the infamous Tomb of Horrors in all of its incarnations. Originally designed as a tournament module back in 1974, it quickly became a cult classic that spawned two sequel campaigns over the next 35 years.
My plan for this game is as follows:

Players will create new 6th-level characters who have set out to brave the dangers of the original tomb and try to either gain unimaginable wealth (as the rumors go) or attempt to vanquish the everlasting evil of Acererak once and for all. Having underleveled characters for this part is by design, as it should clearly demonstrate how lethal this place is and almost impossible to beat at this time.

After all of the first draft of characters have died in their valiant excursion or fled the tomb with their lives, we will have a time skip of some 20 years or so and delve into the ‘Return to the Tomb of Horrors’ campaign, pulbished in 1998. This will most likely see a new group of heroic adventurers (or maybe some of the few survivors of the ‘old guard’ decide to return once more), this time at level 12 who have to face the growing evil of Acererak and his legacy.
Eventually, after this second part is completed, we will move forward in time yet again to tackle the last module, ‘Tomb of Horrors’ published in 2010 that sees the last desperate grasp for ultimate power by the ancient demilich, featuring characters of level 18 or higher.

Despite the clear emphasis on dungeon delving, especially the second part of this campaign will feature quite a bit of roleplaying as well. So I’m not only looking for players who feel at home within underground structures and enjoy challenging tactical combat, you should also be fine with social interactions between characters and have other interests than just ‘kill everything and loot the place’.

I want to preface that this campaign will be a deadly one, especially the shorter first part. Don’t expect your initial character to make it all the way through to the end, maybe not even your second or third one will be so lucky. Anyone who plans to apply should be fine with ‘letting go’ and return to the ongoing game with a new character should their previous one meet an unfortunate end. Except for the original tomb, the main parts of this campaign will not be unfair in its dangers, but caution is adviced and the threat of an abrupt end is always a possibility.
