    Dynamic Lighting tutorials.

Hey All, playing around with DL and I'm getting the hang of it but was wondering if anybody can explain to me how to light a map with both an unlit building interior and a daytime exterior.

If I add an ambient sunlight preset for the exteriors this also lights the interiors. Is there something I can do with layers maybe to achieve this effect?

You should check out the Fantasy Grounds YouTube channel. They have a couple videos that might be helpful to you. In particular about a minute into this one they show how to use masking layers on ambient lights.

Within the Ambient light settings there is a mask setting to mask off the lighting for building.

    See aslo here:

I just watched that video - ambient light gives FOW all over the map, even for characters with no vision - humans with no light source in a pitch black room have FOW when ambient light is enabled, even if it is masked out.

There is some FOW, but it's very dark grey. They still can't see NPCs in the room.

Also here. Last videos on the list. Still got a couple to add https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forum...112#post492112
If there is something that you would like to see in Fantasy Grounds that isn't currently part of the software or if there is something you think would improve a ruleset then add your idea here https://www.fantasygrounds.com/featu...rerequests.php

Yeah, and it should be pitch black. WIth no ambient light on the map at all it would be pitch black for a human with no torch.

The masked area should be black, but the 4.1 version has a bug that still shows the darkened FOW. This will be fixed again in a future update. It is fixed I. Our internal builds and pending some additional testing in this and other reported issues.
