    Original thread is this one which is also related to FGU with a 144hz monitor, issue was something to do with gsync. It's not exactly the issue that you're reporting but it might be related or not, think it might be worth taking a look.

    Seems more an issue with gsync and not frequency. I've disabled gsync for now and we'll see how it affects my system. Not that shutting off a service like gsync is what I'd call a solution but for the meantime...
