Full Size Platform Bed - What You Must Know Before Buying

Choosing the best platform bed is imperative. The time that you spend in your bed, whether it is 6, or 8 hours should be worth it. You do not wish to have sleepless nights or backaches because you did not choose the right bed. A full-size bed is ideal, especially when you are single. With beds being made from different materials, in different designs, and shapes, what must you know before buying one? Here are some of the things to keep in mind while shopping.

The Size of the Room Is Crucial

The exact measurements of the room the full-size platform bed will be placed is crucial. It is because it takes up considerable space. Have the measurements of the room and the bed and see whether it will leave walking space. You cannot be jumping into your bed from the door just because there is no space to walk on.

There Will Be No Need for a Box Spring

Unlike traditional beds where a box spring was required to support a mattress, this is not the case. When buying a full-size platform bed, do not purchase the support type first. These beds come with their support types, such as slats or solid base. You place your mattress on it, and you are good to go. The support also helps in mattress maintenance as it does not sag that can cause it to wear prematurely.

Consider the Height from the Ground

These beds are low-profile ones, thus, before you purchase one, you must know whether it is convenient. Despite them being low profile, they do not have a standard height. If you have mobility issues, a full-size one that is too low will not be ideal. You will need a higher one. Although you still have options when it is too low for you. You can buy a higher mattress or use a foundation with an adjustable height.

Full-Size Platform Beds Are Built From Different Materials

Full-size platform beds are made from varying materials, designs, and shapes. You must choose one that is durable, easy to maintain, and blends in well with the decor of the room. Leather is expensive but durable and easy to take care of. If it is out of your budget, you may want to consider leatherette. The frame can either be wood or metal. Both are durable and have their pros and cons. Some are made from solid wood, e others from steel frames, while others from a combination of different materials. It is good to understand to choose the right bed.

    It Can Damage the Flooring

The floor or carpet needs to be protected from marks and dents. If you are a heavy sleeper and the bed has metallic legs, it could damage some types of floor. To avoid this, it is recommended that you shop for one with caped legs. Others will have glides or covers. Regardless of the amount of pressure it will exert on the floor, there will be no damage.

    The Weight Capacity Varies

Beds are built to accommodate varying weight capacities. There could be two full-size platform beds, but they have different maximum weight capacities. What affects the sturdiness of a bed and the weight that it can hold? The material, how it is built, and the quality of construction plays a vital role. Manufacturers will indicate the bed’s maximum capacity. What you should do is, consider the weight of the sleeper if it is one, or sleepers if it is a couple. This weight should not exceed the recommended capacity of the bed. Also, check out Platformbedexpert

    Slat Spacing

If your mattress support type will be slats, you need to understand the difference in spacing. For reliable support and better mattress maintenance, consider slats that are 3 inches apart. If they are poorly spaced, be ready for a sagging mattress and, in worst cases, a collapse. It will be uncomfortable sleeping on such a bed even when there are two sleepers.

The Legs of the Bed Matters

More support is needed since a full-size platform bed is wide besides the slats. You need to evaluate the legs and consider a bed with a center rail support. The more legs the bed has, the more support it gives. Depending on the type of protection on the legs, some could move around, especially those with wheels. If this is your option, ensure it has locking legs, and you know how to lock them. It will keep it in place.

    Quality of Construction Differs

Quality is essential as you cannot be buying a bed every year. It is another attribute that differs in bed construction. It could look all good, but it is not going to last for long. Never go for a bed because it is appealing or it is cheap. An old saying says that cheap is expensive. If you skimp on quality, you will regret it sooner than later.

Understand what quality is in a bed. Inspect the craftsmanship of the frame since it is the most important. See how the parts are joined, how sturdy it seems to be, its support type, and the legs. A quality full-size platform bed will cost a little more, but it will serve you for a long time to come.

    Conclusion

A full-size platform bed is an excellent option. It is a wide full platform bed that enhances sleep time when the right mattress is used. Before investing your money in it, there are a few things that you must know before buying it. It is to ensure that you have the right bed for your room.

Taking into account the size of your room, the flooring material, the comfortable height above the ground, maximum weight capacity, and slat spacing. Additionally, understand that you will not require a box spring. The color, the material of the bed, and design also play a vital role. They should blend well in the style and the design of your bedroom.

    Welcome mistyfarrow

Try deleting everything from the combat tracker and adding teh PCs and encounters back in.
Otherwise as soon as it crashes collect the logs and post them here.

When you say crash, are you talking about an error message popping up but the program is still running, or does it completely shut down?

If error pops up, then the logs should be sufficient.
If the program shuts down, then we will need a copy of the campaign folder, and a pointer to which map is affected, and any details you have on what exactly was being done by players/GM when it crashed.

    Thanks,
