FGU exe crash
After todays updates I get a crash on launch. Happens also when using Run As Administrator. I also reinstalled without luck. The updater goes through fine without issues.
The below screen pops up and then disappears.Server License: Ultimate. Anyone can play for free.

Your System Event Viewer should have an error report for the event. Can you paste that here? Also FGU should have a log file that has some info too. Not sure which log though, so maybe check all of them.

Some ideas to look at:
* Try checking any security software you have installed to see if it has quarantined FGU.
* Try un-installing FGU and re-installing from the latest download from the web site.
* You don't want to run as administrator; the FGU installer will request admin rights as needed to install.

Uninstall and reinstall did fix it, after I turned my MS security application check back on. As a note it didn't fully uninstall from registry.
The below was logged in the FGUpdaterEngine.log, which was the remaining file in my FGU install directory. Which was a custom path.
Exception deleting reg key: System.Security.SecurityException: A security error has been detected.

Resurrecting this thread, as I have exactly the same issue except for the fact I am trying to install FGU on a new computer for the first time (Windows 10).
I've tried giving user full permissions, uninstalling/reinstalling, rebooting, downloading through both Steam and the Main FGU download page (and uninstalled the Steam version afterwards), as well as disabling antivirus and firewall.
I'm not sure whether this would help, but here are the Application Error Event Properties:

"aticfx64.dll" is not a file provided by FGU or the FGU updater; but looks like a graphics driver file.
Can you make sure that your graphics drivers are up to date?

Thanks, updating the graphics driver fixed it.
