I'm having a problem with Advantage and Disadvantage
Hello, My name is Eurandros.
I have an odd situation where my party and I are fighting a group of gargoyles. During combat a gargoyle becomes prone, but the problem is when we attack this prone gargoyle we get disadvantage not advantage.
At no point are the buttons pushed or effects applied to a character.
Any solutions?

Welcome to the forums also!
Which rule set? D&D 5e? Classic or Unity? IS this a published module?
What weapons were being used to attack? Swords? Bows? How far away were the PCs? Were you using the map or just theater of the mind (AKA no map).
How was prone applied to the gargoyle? Did the DM do it or was it a spell effect? If you want a Wishlist in the Fantasy grounds store klick the link and upvote it.

So the character was using a Longsword, he was next to the gargoyle, and on a map. I'm thinking it may have to do with the prone effect itself.

I want to test this myself. To do so I need to know which ruleset and if it was classic or Unity. Also do you know how prone was applied to the gargoyle? Was it a spell effect or the DM applied the effect?

I did a test and it is giving me advantage. Picture attached. Could there have been an addon causing the switch?

You might also want the DM to look at the campaign directory. In it there is a file chatlog.html. For the picture above this is what is in the file for the combat session.

Thank you, I'll ask the DM to look at that after our game, for now we will just use physical dice.

Also make sure you do not have DIS highlighted (bottom left corner) on your player screen. Although it being prone and you having disadvantage would cancel each other out. Make sure the DM did not set your status to prone verses the gargoyle. If the bars are right next to each other easy to do.
