    Data loss in export

I have created a development campaign where I can work on modules before exporting them and opening them in my regular campaign to use. I have a map which I added LOS to, and also added a few tokens such as pillars and pits and the like, and I put a number of combat encounters on the map. I then exported the map (and the encounters, tables, parcels etc) to a module file. The module export was created successfully. However, when I open the map in the gaming campaign, most of the added data is gone. The LOS is still there, but the added tokens and the encounters have all disappeared. All the other data such as tables, parcels etc, is still available. When I go back to the development campaign and reopen the map, all the data is still there.

Any idea why some of the added data is going missing?

Make sure you do select all the data types you are wanting to export.
Tokens on Maps do not export but Token Placement in Encounters does.

What exactly do you mean by the highlighted portion of the quote? Unless something has changed in FGU, exporting does not include tokens on the map.

When I'm doing an export I generally select all, so everything should be exported. I wasn't aware that added tokens and artwork wouldn't export - that's irritating but perhaps it will be changed down the line. As for the encounters, they are exported, but they are no longer linked to the map. So it would seem I will need to recreate the encounter links and reposition all the tokens, which makes me wonder why I would even bother with a development campaign.

Have a look in the wiki about the correct way to use Encounters. You might find it is both very easy to use in game time and it will save all of that info in the export.

    * Tokens on maps are not exported by design (either graphics nor position information).
    * Token graphics specified within token fields (such as encounters, NPCs) may be exported. If the token graphic is from a module, the graphic will not be exported, only the module reference. If the token graphic is custom, the graphic will be exported.
