When only Constitutional Amendments is loaded, when you drop a custom effect with no duration, a duration is added.

I first noticed this in a campaign where I was running the extensions surrounding 5E Automatic effects. So I started a new campaign with just Constitutional Amendments and tested and got the duration added. When I test in a campaign with no extensions this doesn't happen.

The custom effect is Undead Thrall which is a Necromancer Wizard class ability where undead created by the necromancer have a bonus to max health and damage based on the wizard's level and proficiency.

Reminder when testing, that an effect using [LVL] and [PRF] *have* to come off a character sheet in 5E. And the bug seems to involve [LVL].

I've attached a pic showing the issue. Note how the duration of of the effect on the Skeleton on the tracker is 4 instead of 0. That is Ravina's character level. When I first noticed the bug in the other campaign, the duration seem based on that PC's character level of 14 as well (it was one higher but I was also using the Effective Initiative extension which seems to add one to shown durations).

After checking it in a new campaign, it's not an issue for LVL, it's an issue with the coding "MAXHP: n", it's some reason setting the duration to whatever n is after MAXHP:

Thanks for narrowing that down! That gets me right in the ballpark for where the bug is happening in the code so it'll speed up figuring out a fix.

Last night I noticed another issue with Constitutional Amendments that may be similar or related. The max hps on the tracker don't match the amount on the character sheet with the extension loaded.

With a fresh campaign and just Constitutional Amendments added when a PC has the CON: 2 on him the combat tracker shows the increase in Max HPs but the character sheet does not. IE in this case Xerxes has 127 hps on the tracker but only 112 on his character sheet. His correct hp is 127 when he has his dwarven belt on. Xerxes does have higher than normal hps from where he drank from a fountain as a young adventurer and gained a permanent 5 extra hit points.

When no extensions are loaded the character sheet max hp and the combat tracker have the same value for hps.

Yeah, that part is basically working as intended, for better or worse. Much in the same way as an AC effect on the CT will correctly work when resolving attacks, it doesn't show the change on the character sheet.

But in base FGU it does show the correct HPs on the character sheet. This does appear to be an exception, different from like AC or saves effects.

Vanilla FGU doesn't actually change hit points at all when a CON effect is present. Neither on the CT nor on the character sheet. At least that's the way its been for years and I haven't seen that mentioned in any of the release notes recently.

After messing around with this a bit in a fresh campaign with new characters, I better understand how it works and, yeah, in Vanilla Con effects don't update the character sheet.

During the game I was confused when the player running the Paladin character asked me why this PC wasn't making death saves since his wounds were equal to his max hp, but the combat tracker said he was only critical. I'll just not use the CON: 2 effect in the future.

Just released version 2.4.5 which fixes the bug messing with effect durations when using MAXHP effects.

Hi MeAndUnique, and thanks for the fantastic extension. It has improved my players' experience a great deal.

I isolated a cosmetic problem where effects are sometimes doubled. I see this consistently when a PC or NPC goes to zero hit points. The "prone" and "unconscious" effects are applied twice. This is cosmetic, but does require deleting the extra "prone" and extra "unconscious" effects. I tested by removing all extensions and adding them back one by one. No real effect on the game but wanted you to know.

    Thanks again!
