FGC- Info on two machines.. going to a third

    Hey folks,

I've seen a few threads with similar questions, but not one with this specific issue.

The Short Version: My group originally played in person and used FGC as a vtt and not much of a content management tool. Now that's obviously changed with covid-19.

My issue: I run my game in my living room. I work on my content on either a laptop, or a third machine upstairs. Now that I'm using FG to keep track of the content, I'm encountering concerns.

Right now, I basically have FG content on my laptop and my upstairs computer, and I am exporting those into 'modules' and loading them into my livingroom computer when I have to run the game and running things like that. Is there a better way to do this? I'm just afraid that eventually I'm going to run into an issue somewhere. Also, I don't like having things broken up between different machines piecemeal.

Is there a way to export all the content that is together and move it around each time I work on a new machine? Any other options?

I hope that makes sense. Thanks!

You can just copy the entire campaign folder between machines. It might take some doing to get everything into one set of FG Data folders, especially if you used the same campaign names on different machines (just rename one of them).

IMO it is best to copy, don't use a shared location as their are caveats to doing so and if you mess up you risk data loss.

Well you could export the data on the content creation machines and then transfer the .mod file to the game computer for the session. Then update the .mod file on the creation machines as you create more content for it. Basically, my solution would be to use a .mod (module) file to store the information you need and create for your games.
