Running an Indiana Jones style game

    Hello everyone,

I have been playing with the idea of one day running a set of pulp adventures in the style of Indiana Jones & co. Something along the lines of "traveling the world treasure hunting, punching Nazis and getting impaled on ancient spike traps".

Now I´m looking for a system that is suitable for my plans and have stumbled once again over savage worlds. Besides one very entertaining round of Deadlands I have no experience with the system.
Mabey the collective knowledge of these forums could tell me if savage worlds can provide what I will need to create and run a setting like that or if there are already published works that will suit my needs or can give some inspiration.

    Thank you very much.

10000000% the system is designed for exactly what you're asking for.

I've had FG for so LONG I DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE IT!

    But I'm learning!

Triple Ace Games has a nice set of Indiana Jones-style adventures. Also, there is a simple hack of the core rules to make it even more pulpy. In the downloads section, see Pulp Rules

Thank you for the link. Yes, Savage Worlds is perfect for Indy adventures. I'm thinking about one myself. 1936 Nazi/Cthulhu ala Achtung Cthulhu.

Although its new and not much FG support as of yet (there is a simple ruleset available in the forums and someone is currently working on a full Core-RPG based ruleset), Genesys Narrative RPG also seems like a good candidate (from FFG, the makers of the current iteration of the Star Wars RPG). There is a website that has an Indiana Jones setting for it as well.

But yes, I also agree Savage Worlds is also perfect for this as well. And it has a well-supported and official ruleset in the Fantasy Grounds store, as well as the Savage Tales of Adventure line of modules which are basically Indiana Jones without the trademarked Lucasfilm elements.

There's some of the Triple Ace Games "Daring tales" in the FG store: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store...=daring&sort=1

Excellent! Daring Tales of Adventure. Sorry I called them Savage Tales of Adventure. Some of these are pretty good and VERY Indy.

Also you might want to check out the Pinnacle Eye of Kilquato adventure. Buck Savage is not far from Indy. Likewise he is accompanied by Kator the ape boy (not too far from a Short-Round) and some others. All and all you might be able to reskin some of that for some additional ideas.

As someone who's working on an Occult Heavy WWII game (sort of like the opening of the first Ron Pearlman Hellboy movie) I can tell you that Savage Worlds is a very good system for that kind of thing. I'm using the Weird Wars setting and just updating to the newer Adventure Edition (which is super easy to do) and it feels very good in this system and I can't wait to wrap up my Star Wars game and start this one.
