Any chance beta will open up to demo accounts this week?
My group's main campaign is on hiatus for a few weeks due to the holiday and I have an awesome Xmas side campaign I want to put on for those in my group who want to play. I really want to use the new FX stuff and drawing tools. Also, this would be a good opportunity for my group and I to test out the beta and provide useful feedback as we'll be playing casually and any bugs or issues we encounter won't affect us too negatively as it would if we were doing our main campaign. Gives us the chance to pause and properly reproduce the bugs so we can report them thoroughly. Our first game will be this Saturday. Thought I'd ask so I can decide if I should wait to start putting campaign assets together. If there's no chance demo accounts happen this week then I'll dive into FGC and start building

Thanks Dave. Does that differ from the last couple backer updates or am I misunderstanding what they meant?
Nov 22 update:
Dec 5 update:
I assumed that update meant that I, as a kickstarter backer with an ultimate license, would be able to host a game for demo accounts in a week or so from the update. But maybe I misunderstood what that meant.Last edited by CatDadCode; December 11th, 2019 at 20:52.

That is, in itself, news. Thanks for the update, and happy holidays/Happy new year.

I haven't done a ton of network testing myself, but I've been following the known issues list pretty closely, and my sense is that you don't want to run even a one-shot in FGU right now. You will almost certainly encounter a network bug that stops the session dead. Like a one or more players can't load critical assets and just can't participate in the game at all.
The initial testing sessions should probably be designated as testing sessions specifically. Goals like "run a combat until we hit a game breaking bug" or "share player modules and attempt to browse them" are realistic goals for initial sessions. Running a one-shot start to finish, I suspect is not a goal you can meet yet... though every update brings us closer.
