map layers visible to specific players

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask. With unity supporting multiple layers, is it/will it be possible to share those layers to some PCs and not others. Some examples might be for illusory terrain that some people have seen through, traps that have been found by the rogue, etc.

The best I've been able to do it have one map layer for the DM and one map layer for the PCs and have a map image in each. I did this so I could have a DM map with all the secrets/traps/etc shown but the PCs couldn't see them.

That’s a great way to do it for my examples. I have a more specific use in mind. One of my players is a divination wizard and I thought it would be a cool idea to us variants of a map to set up an encounter where the wizard had to describe things only he can see because in the present the things are damaged or gone.

It’s a very specific use but I’m just trying to find unique ways to engage my players.

in that case I'd probably go with just having a separate map and only having the wizard on that map. Share just that map with the one player, and have them describe to the other players what is visible.

Yea, but what Davinci522 asked is a way to do it without workarounds. It is certainly possible to do so with current technology, so I think it's valid to suggest that on the https://fg2app.idea.informer.com/ I'd vote on that idea.

I’ll add it as soon as I figure out how. I’ve never used ideainformer before and don’t see an “add topic” button

Edit: I figured it out an added it to the list.
