Operating Questions
I'm running my first session with FG tonight but I have a few questions.
1. Is there a way to make it so the "pins" don't show on the player's maps?
2. Can the distance a PC is moving be given as the movement happens?
3. Is there a ruler to measure distances?
Thanks in advance for the assistance!

1) By default they don't show to the players.
For the next two, distance will only be shown if a FG grid has been added to the map:
2) If you lock tokens then the players indicate their movement and distance is shown. https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/...okens#Movement
3) Draw a pointer (line) on the map and the distance will be shown. See "Add quick pointer" here: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/wiki/...mages#Pointers
If you want to see what FG looks like from the player side, start a second instance on the same computer as the GM instance and "Join Game" with a servername of localhost - this is invaluable in learning what the players see compared to the GM side.Private Messages: My inbox is forever filling up with PMs. Please don't send me PMs unless they are actually private/personal messages. General FG questions should be asked in the forums - don't be afraid, the FG community don't bite and you're giving everyone the chance to respond and learn!

You should really take the GM courses on Fantasy Grounds College...
