.PAK Issue Breaks Fantasy Grounds

Fresh install of FGU on Windows 10 (64 -bit) runs fine with 2ndED, 5thEd and Core RPG. Decided to try Vampire the Masquerade .PAK from the original FG. Upon trying to run the .PAK FGU crashes and ends up getting corrupted. The corruption is not limited to VtM but to all .PAKs. Uninstalled FGU as a whole and deleted all of the file folders it created and re-installed again and ran 2ndED and 5thED and both ran fine. Installed the VtM.PAK again and had the same issue.

I understand its a beta and I'm not worried about re-installing although I thought you guys might be aware of the .PAK issue that I have been facing. I thought I read that the .PAKs from FG would work on FGU. Here is the console.log for anyone interested ... If anyone else wants more info just let me know

Once a ruleset fails to load, you will need to exit out of the application completely, before attempting to load anything else. The Reload / Return To Launcher functionality is not working yet; and that includes when a ruleset fails to load.

There are multiple errors in the VtM.pak you are using that need to be addressed to allow it to run under FGU. (see below from your console.log file) You'll have to ask the community developer who made the ruleset to fix up the issues. The fixes will allow it to work in both FGC and FGU.

On a related note, there is an official VtM ruleset in progress. No specifics on timing, since it needs to be approved by publisher; but it should be out by the holidays or shortly after.

I understand that the VtM.pak needs some work in order to get it running on FGU. However I have completely exited out of FGU after the errors from running the .pak and restarted my computer and no .paks will load short of doing a fresh install of FGU.

I am not worried about it, like I mentioned before I know this is a beta. I just wanted to let people know about it.

As for the Official VtM ruleset ... sounds good. I am looking forward to it.

Where did you download the VtM.pak that caused this issue? I want to try locally to see if I see the same thing.

I got it couple of years ago in the "CoreRPG (Generic Ruleset) And Other Game Systems" Forum and it was several pages in when I got to it. Its by no means a new .pak

Yeah that is the one. I only know that for sure because it has the Crossover and the Dark Ages extensions.

I tried to launch a campaign using that ruleset and FGU. It threw a whole host of errors then kicked back to the launch screen. After exiting and relaunching FGU I was able to run the updater (it showing an update available) and launch on of the other campaigns i have on FGU without issue.

Hmm... Didn't think to try updating after the crash. I figured since I updated right before launching I was good. I already know the .pak is unusable for FGU so I probably wont bother trying it again.

There was an update to FGU pushed just as I went to test the VtM.
