Onar the Ageless is escorted across Eriador to the threshold of Wilderland by his family and a company of Blue Mountain Dwarves. There, they're met by escorts who live east of the Misty Mountains, who will guide them on the remainder of their journey through the vast, wild land.




The Companions hire ponies and journey to the edge of Mirkwood, where they camp for the night, sing song, and tell stories of old lore.




But none of the travelers stayed alert at night, until the third watch discovered something horrific: their ponies were ensared in webs and lying motionless on the ground. Giant Spiders!




After a fast and sickening struggle, one of the dwarves lay paralyzed with spider poison, and four of the ponies were dead. The dark eaves of Mirkwood loom, challenging the Companions to consider whether to cancel their journey, take a path around, or press on. Whither will they go?

Solving a mystery of parasites, and foolish klingons, the crew managed to roll terribly all evening. Even when the mythic 5 successes was rolled to save the one klingon alive. "He was not supposed to live" the master muttered. The Red Shirts also failed, in the sense that they survived.... eh.. who knew that was possible?
