Is there a way to use Steam like a VPN?

In other words, if both the players and I am connected to Steam, does it change how they can connect to the GM instance of FG?

I'm having issues connecting through the internet but no problem connecting to Steam so, is there a way to use that as a work around?

Nope. Steam does nothing for FG connectivity. For FG Steam is just a stub that starts the normal FG application.
